*** Lights *** Well as the work will slow ever so slightly over crimbo i decided to work on a few bits. I have paid up for 12 hours of labour but there is nothing that can be done on the buggy without me buying a few more bits. I have decided to start looking at the rear light assemblies and getting as much done on the rear subframe as possible so that it can be finished off and broken down and sent off to paint while i finish the rest of the frame. I never really liked the normal 'Hamburger' style rear lights on the buggy so now these have been removed and binned for some land rover light units. I much prefer these lights and to be honest i think they will look better. Plus i have the extra room now that the buggy has been widened to use them I bought 2 extra stop/tail lights so they will give more effect when braking. This layout shows how im thinking of having the lights. The rear fog and reverse lights will be either side of the number plate which will be slightly lower down than the others. Quickly knocked up a cardboard template to see what the light units will look like and i think it will be ok when on the car, but welcome to oppinions people??? Hopefully going to get the steel templates laser cut over the next few weeks along with some other parts i need for the beast. As the engine is sat in its final location now as well im going to start looking at getting the driveshafts made up I will keep the updates coming people as it keeps me motivated to crack on with it, im sorry if it gets a bit stupid adding these small updates every now and then but helps me work out what was done when etc... Jason ;)

I paid £600 for my GT. Had some fake ssr wheels that where buggered, a bailey dump valve and a Trust exhaust backbox. It did however come with a HUGE dent in the bonnet, front, side etc etc which i thought was very nice of the guy to throw in for free

Wow, Great News Enzo!!!! Hope it all works out for ya mate, im sure it will. Will be in touch in due time for a TD12 kit and more bits ;) Sponsorship deal maybe??? Im happy to get some vinyls down the side of the beast. Jason -
Manual bit of a pain to sort out but it can be done. Will probably use gear linkage cables from a mr2 as they should be long enough?????

Thanks guys It looks like a big update but its not that big to be honest as they have been aligning the engine for some time now. The engine looks right at home in the car though and it lloks like it was designed to have been put in there all along now. There are things that can be done though like making the seat frames, cleaning bits up(including a deep clean to the engine) and getting a few other bits underway so the updates won't stop and i will be cracking on with it. My heart operation looks like its going to be early next year which means i will have ALOT more money to spend on the car as i will be off for 3 monthson full pay Its going to be insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*** Update time *** Well i got up to JDModoified yesterday and got a few bits sorted on the car I arrived to find that they have now got the Starlet engine properly sat in its final location and everything is now in and secure. The engine is properly secured and doesn't move at all. They have added some bars across the back to strengthen the buggy and protect in a rear end crash. The old light mounts have been cut off and im going to have some lower light units mounted under the top bar at the back. Already checked the IVA manual and there is no problems having them mounted there The rear subframe is now almost there, just a few minor welding/cleaning up bits and some new brackets for the coilover conversion and its all good. Im also changing the plates that the subframe top mounts bolt to the chassis and re-enforcing them. Then started working on the front and got the batery tray cut off and cleaned up. The radiator is getting mounted at the front so im going to move the battery out of the way and make way for the new nose cone. Also got the old crappy front suspension removed and got the springs onto the new coilovers ready to be fitted back on when i get the rest chopped off and the new bracket welded on. goodbye to the old....... hello to the new and improved....... While i was there i also got a few things measured up that are going to be drawn up and manufactured over the next few months. Including new rear light pods, mounting brackets, stainless exhausts etc. Work is going to slow down over christmas while funds are low and will be back on in full in the new year. I will be spending the next few months getting everything ready for the new year so the updates will keep coming, even if they are small. I also couldn't resist the chance to get all the wheels onto the car and wow what a difference, the pictures don't really show it off to its full as the light was almost gone and i only had a chance to get a few quick snaps but you get the idea. I also measured the width of the car at the front and the rear. Front is 153cm wide and the rear is a massive 185cm wide, PHAT ASS!!!!!!! looks mean as though in the flesh. Comments welcome people. 2D or 3D? And what sort of box? Just a plain box or does it need rounded corners etc would help if i knew what you wanted it for. Jason

Love it! Always been a fan of the older Evo's. They all seem to look the same from about 6 onwards Jason

Im a Modelmaker. Currently working for a Science Centre making interactive exhibits for kids. Its not bad but can get a bit frustrating when you spend ages making something only to have the kids smash it up in 10 minutes

Sorry to hear it failed mate but luckily on a small things that you can sorted quickly and cheaply and like you said gives you a few more days with the GT now :harhar:

just got mine delivered today! Whoop whoop!!!!! :harhar:
-
Hmmm. Im thinking about that as a possible future project now I quite like the T sport, really nice little car! Although if i really think about it i would probably leave the engine in the yaris :harhar:
-
I agree its nice to be different and i always admire the people that break away from the norm and do somethink different but i think Starlet rick is right on the Honda engine swap here. Its a great engine and the civic chassis matches it perfectly and i think its going to be more hassle than its worth and give not much benefit over the 4efte engine. Have you though about different engines? Im not sure what but i would stick to the toyota range of engines. Maybe a 1.5 T sport engine from the Yaris and supercharged??? has anyone done that yet??? or a 1.6 from a newer corolla??? Just my 2 pence worth :harhar: Jason
-
lol i was planning on using each winter to swap engines after i have blown the old one up each summer ;)
-
Won't be using mine over winter as well but for different reasons, it will get bloody freeeeeeeeeezin ;)
-
4efte has a turbo, 4efe doesn't ;)

Just don't ever speak that way about Forza again To be honest im not overly fussed about playing it, yes i ordered it but i have other things to do
-
Well go and play it then..............oh no you can't, maybe next year but probably not ;)
-
Be carefull using it before the release date!!!!!! I have been told storeys of Microsoft cutting people off from xbox live if they play the game before the release date! Even though technically its who every your bought the game from's fault as they sent it out early!!!! If i get mine early im unplugging my wireless lead ;)

Wrong! Buying a french piece o shit car will take that ride away from you And as i wrote the post saying i will give you a spin i can easily go back and take it out .......but as you where joking i will let you off
-
Your lucky that was a joke, you where just about to loose your spin in the Demon! I started reading the first bit and thought to myself, why on earth would anyone swap a car like yous for some heap french tat. Then i saw the large space and thought, hang on he's telling lies

I Have an RX7 topmount that im going to be selling as i have decided against it mate. It will require some welding though as i cut the brackets off the side to use it for my project. Its sound otherwise, i can get pictures for you and will only need about £20 of welding to add some brackets onto it. Jason
-
You can't wait for updates :harhar: I can't wait to give you updates Will have to take you out for a spin in it when its done. Any excuse to use it, second this things done every second the sun is out im going to be driving it!!!!

Can't wait for 2 weeks time, going to go flippin crazy and get as much done as i can in one day! I have told them about my dodgy heart as well and hopefully that will make him want to do more on it as well. He can see how badly i want it done now :harhar: Guy i work with his son works in the wind tunnel test department at Williams so im going with him to look round. Aparrently its not just F1 but all williams stuff and now and then the drivers are learking about A couple of years ago i used to work with Maclarens Top F1 Ex Engineer and he got me tickets to Silverstone testing and i got right into Maclarens pits and got to meet Lewis Hamilton and see the car up close. My mate got told off for taking pics of their top secret gearbox and had to delete the pics
