The HKS one is £100 because it has a voltage stablizer built into the system that ensures a even supply of volts with less drain on the battery and prevents voltage spikes........................only joking, thats a load of croc! Its £100 because it has HKS stamped onto it

Use fibreglass filler to get the main big holes/defects filled in then when you have the basic shape formed out then switch to standard body filler to get the smooth finish before painting/trimming

Pretty much spot on! Most kits will claim the will give better earthing, prolonged battery life, better starting etc etc . They are basically thicker, better earth cables that just improve the earthing around the engine. Some people notice a difference but to be honest i think they are more for show than anything else. The brush is really fine, doesn't really do any damage. I don't know what the a pillars are like in the starlet??? The a pillars in my lexus are alcantara and the seats have suede centre pieces and it doesn't damage them so you will be fine
-
I spend far too much time on here, mainly as i need products!!!!!! Don't have a starlet, just parts of one and i have only been in one for about 2 minutes when i took it off the trailer and then into the workshop, then it was taken to bits and crushed

Pretty much. After you have hoovered them then spray the foam cleaner on, leave for 20 seconds or so to bring out dirt. Use the lid brush bit to scrub them and then with a clean wet cloth give them a wipe. The mats will remain wet over night, or put them inside to dry but they will come up a treat. I use the stuff on my seats, roof linning, a pillars, carpets, mats etc. You will be amazed at some of the stuff it gets out. Any foaming cleaner should do, not just the one i mentioned
-
To clean mats and carpets i use Carplan Interior valet. Its great stuff, you can pick it up from halfrauds. Give them a good hoover then use the stuff on them. Its basically foaming carpet cleaner and comes with a brush built into the lid. I have cream matts in my lex and they are a bitch to keep clean, this stuff makes them like new

Still aiming for around the 550kg mark. It may be wider/longer but not much material has been added. And the old mini lump was quite heavy Should be under 600kg for sure. It will be getting weighed when the geo gets done

Slicks will be replaced for Yoko A048r's before registration I just planning on doing a track day before i register it Tell me about it, i keep looking at the bhp per tonne chart and seeing all the cars i can destroy
-
LOL Adrian Flux have this kit car on their books even though there are only about 20 in existance. They don't care where the engine has came from!!! they only care about engine size. My insurance came out at £195 fully comp

Doesn't get registered with a new reg unless i use 100% new parts, so would need a brand new starbo engine If i use a selection of new and donor parts then the reg will be from the donor cars year of manufacture. If i can't supply reciepts for all the main parts i will get a Q reg. There is huge paper trail involved with building a kit car. I need to have v5c from donor, reciepts for all bits, build photo's, IVA paperwork etc etc. This is one of the main reasons i do this build diary to keep on top of the paperwork. And no MOT for 3 years

LOL its one of those things that i think about but i know im more than likely never going to get round to doing it. Im working my ass off on this now. I have started going into work early to get some done. Then work on my lunch break and even at home after work. I am hoping that it should be almost ready by early summer but then i reckon another 3-4 months till its on the road as there is alot of paperwork and dvla bullshit to do Im desperate now to get this finished In theory it will be driveable in a few months. The problem is that i plan on breaking it all down to bare frame and then re

^^^^^ I was thinking that techniaclly its a space frame without any panels. I could in fact weld on some mounts then knock up a full fibreglass shell that fits over and attaches. I could have different cars then when i wanted change them, Wide body starlet, Wide body Glanza etc etc. Hmmmmmm, thats actually not a bad idea

Thats the thing, i don't think this will be ready till later on in the season next year so JAE would have been spot on! Trax i know is usually late in the year so may attend that one. If not then i will start going to most of the shows in 2011. I will be at every track/sprint/quarter mile day under the sun the second its built though
