  1. So basically when i start my car for the first time the whole engine is going to explode and im going to die as the catch can is done wrong! I have no idea how im going to do mine then???? I have the race tech inlet manifold so it doesn't have a adaptor for the hose. Then i have a race spec rocker cover with gutted pcv valve..........so im doomed!
  2. Hmmmm, maybe but the close fit arch's i have will be the same bright green. And i have so much green parts to go on the car that it might be too much??? Its always something i can look at doing later when its road legal, have so many other things that need attention first! Get the other 2 wheels done and on the car
  3. Looking awesome Sparkster Those will look EPIC when on the car. I have been thinking for ages about doing the ultralites i have in bright green with a polished lip but i think it might be too much green and may just leave them as they are!?!?!? Jason
  4. If it was me i would keep it and just crack on with it, as the insurance starts coming down then add a few more mods and then go for the 4efte later
  5. No roofs for even more WIN Looking good Dan, you decided to just keep this now and crack on? Hope so, this car is mint!!!!!
  6. Some people are just arseholes! Hope it turns up in one piece, although gut feeling is it probably wont This sort of thing makes me worry about the buggy when its finished. Yes i will have an Alarm, imobalizer and a removable steering wheel but its not exactly secure is it? I mean i have no frickin doors, roof, sides etc. It plays on my mind alot, some people are just twats and i can see parts going missing off my car every five minutes
  7. Another little update, and it may be one of the last now for a while Looks like we are exchanging on the house on the 24th of this month so the buggy will pretty much stop after that date as i will be mainly beavering away on the house to try and get it in a state where we can move in, probably about 4-5 months work! will try and get a few things done here and there but the house is the priority at the moment. Well the HUGE tub of bodyfiller arrived last week and me and Paul (Mainly Paul to be honest) started to add the filler to the nosecone. Now comes some sanding and more filling............. starting to add it......... Still need to build the shape up around the front area and ignore the shape at the top of the nosecone near the passenger compartment as that will be trimmed to shape after the fibreglass stage. Also had a few more little parts arrive, black end caps for the front top arms, clips for the coolant lines and a piece of fuel hose for the fuel pressure valve that mounted on the fuel cell. Started looking at the wiring also this week while Paul was mainly working away on the nosecone. The injector wiring was my first job as i needed to extend the wiring as they where a bit stretched. this is how it looked before......... and after............. Then continued working around the engine cleaning up parts and lengthening/shortening certain wires so they suit the buggy better. Then came a package from James at CJPerformance. Thermostat housing as the one on the engine has seen better days. and the ECU connection bloack that i have been after now for nearly a year! Finally i can now finish off the engine loom and hopefully start the wiring for the lights, indicators etc..... The wires on the connection block where really short so first job was to extend them all so i have something to work with........... Will try this week to crack on with the wiring but probably won't have the time as i have other jobs that need my attention. Another job i started to do was to get the driveshafts measured up and get them ready to send off. Cleaned and prepped the mini ones with no problems and then did the starlet ones. Thats where i had a problem. Went to test fit the driveshafts into the gearbox and guess what! Yep they don't fit! Turns out there are 2 different types of starlet driveshafts and when i changed the gearbox over for a LSD version i didn't get the driveshafts and the ones i have are the wrong type. Managed to drain the gearbox oil and remove the driveshaft cups to count the splines. Found out i need a set of 23 spline shafts and after lots of searching and messaging people i have 1 on the way and maybe the second as well. Already confirmed with the guy who is going to do the work that he can do them and he is currently patiently waiting for them. Few more little updates soon and then will be on hold for a while as the house takes over my life......LOL Jason
  8. That is just pure win! Think im going to spray mine now instead of polishing it up
  9. Yes was the right one mate. Im making a loom to fit in the buggy. I don't know what happened when the original loom was removed from my GT but i lost this part. I found a MR2 connector that was the same, or we thought was the same but it killed my ECU. Just need to spend a bit of time now chopping, soldering and re routing and it should be sorted
  10. Ok, scrap that. He has rechecked them again and it is a 23 spline. Yay, i have a driveshaft, now just need one more!
  11. Hi All, As most of you know im after a set of driveshafts with 23 splines on the cup parts that go into the gearbox. I have messaged a member on here and he says the driveshaft he has is 25 splines? Is this right? I was under the impression there is a 23 spline or a 30 spline. Is there really a 25 spline out there as well??? The struggle goes on! Jason
  12. Just a quick post to say a HUGE thankyou to James. I sent a thermostat housing to him a while back, well actually it was flippin ages ago James was going to polish it up for me but it was a bit of a pain because of the shape and it never actually got polished. Not too fussed as i might go a different route now and maybe powdercoat/paint it. However When James sent it back to me he was kind enough to add a little present in the parcel. He kindly sent me a connector off a spare loom he had lying about. Doesn't seem like much i know but i have been after this one connector for nearly a year now and its vital to get the buggy finished. Over the moon so a HUGE thumbs up from me
  13. Sounds like they are the wrong ones. They should be a straight fit, best to contact the supplier and see what they say! I have ordered direct from Hel before and they have been spot on! I had a custom made clutch cable (nearly 2m long) and they made the cable and delivered next day!
  14. Love this car so much Pure WIN!!!!! You still rocking the JDModified sticker on the soft top rear window? Just so you know they are the guys that helped to build the 'Demon' Jason
  15. Think he will be in the hospital first having is legs checked
  16. Hi Everyone, Right need a bit of help with this, not sure if anyone will know. I have a standard LSD gearbox fitted on the Demon and im currently measuring up for the custom drivshafts to be made, however have come across a bit of a problem. The driveshafts i have are from a standard non LSD starbo and they don't actually fit into the cup part on the gearbox as they are too fat. Are the only other drivehsafts that fit into the cups the lsd box ones? Obviously the length isn't a problem as they are getting custom made, the important part is the fitting that goes into the cups is correct? Im guessing that i can't change the cups for a non lsd box type??? This was a complete kick in the face as im literally just about to get the shafts made up Jason
  17. Yes he would go for the smallest gaps to see if the other driver would give in first and move to stop a collision. The other driver would actually have to crash into him to prove that next time he tried anything you where not going to give in. If you gave in and moved over he knew that every time he tried the same you would give in and pussy out. I remember watching the race when he died, was only young (11 years old to be exact) but still remember it pretty well. Jason
  18. This build is looking awesome! Nice to see somone doing something a bit different As for JAE, its a great weekend and you won't regret going along. Not sure if you will get a stand of your own as i believe the stands are allocated about 9-10 months in advance. Im sure they won't mind you tagging along on the UKSC stand (better check first) if not then i know another jap car club that will be more than happy to have you on their stand. Jason
  19. Im still planning on coming down
  20. As above. I had to make my own hot pipe in the end as getting something to suit was a pain in the ass and it looked like i had just thrown it together. I know its completely different but here's mine.......... Made the pieces up then got someone to weld them up............
  21. No need to be sorry, everyone should have one In fact i would have one for the buggy too but it doesn't have a windscreen to fit it too.
  22. Flippin love your MX5, wanna swap??? Keep up the good work dude, this is looking EPIC!!!!!!!!!!
  23. I have that actual tax disc holder, its brilliant! Sticks to the window properly and looks ace..........
  24. I might try and make it to this if you guys don't mind a MX5 popping along ........One day i might be able to actually bring the Demon lol
