  1. hopefully liam will be following his olders advise and giving the rollers a miss. too much to risk for very little point, if anything goes wrong due to the fact that you want a RR printout that says 2bhp more than your old one. any point?

  2. im getting annoyed at you not even trying the small things first and just admitting defeat and being a mardy bitch about it. and from what ive seen its hardly gonna ground planes in the east midlands.

if the rocker cover is blocked or clogged up in the breather section then that may be causing the problem. it takes two minutes to fucking change so just do it instead of being a gay about it.

well when changing the oil its advise to change the filter too. put a slightly thicker oil in and see if it gets any better.

they didnt tell you it was something internal. they said it COULD be. just like i receive turbo every day when "proffesional mechanics" have diagnosed it as being so. but it ends up being a clogged breather. if they checked that first as im advising you to do then they would save a lot of time and money.

but thats the last im gonna say because you dont listen anyway you just wanna think the worst and make a drama. dont let it ruin your life your a young man with the rest of your life still to live! lol you will get over it

  3. ok your money. i know what i would be doing though and thats the simple cheap things first.

    rocker cover= 3min (free)

    fuel cleaner= 1min (£5.99)

reset ecu = 15 min (free)

    oil and filter= 15min (£30)

and as you can be reseting your ecu while doing the change, thats under 20 minutes and under £40.

if it fixes it, happy days! if not at least you know its none of the above

  4. ok.........again

have you swapped back to the old rocker cover yet?

have you changed to a slightly thicker oil and another new oil filter yet?

have you ran some fuel cleaner through and reset the ecu yet?

if not then give them ago before you start fucking about

  5. the reason i say look at getting it fixed is, say you brought that engine , you would then have to shell out for it to be fitted, also there is no garentee that that engine is not also fucked so you are at square one.

if you take it to get it checked out and fixed it may only be a small problem and cost less to fix than changing engine will and will also have peice of mind your not gonna be getting a hammered engine.

you recently changed rocker cover, try changine back to the old one. sounds simple but worth a try. did you change the pcv valve? if so put old one back on ect

  6. honestly liam just get it checked out somewhere properly and look at just repairing whatever the problem is for now, may be cheaper than the 5e conversion.

wait till you can afford the conversion to fte as it will be much more worth while.

    listen to your elders

  7. in starting to think ct9 hybrids are not really the way to go. ive got plans to fit a ihi vf range turbo, but i need to find a way of getting a down pipe made up.

ive got all kinda plans on making ct9/garret hybrids but i feel that a big restriction will need to remain in the ct9/12 turbine housing so i dont know if it will be worth it.

something simalar size to a ct9 but lightweight, newer design with a billet compressor wheel would be pretty awsome

i was even thinking of going back to stock turbo for a while just to get a feel for what thats like as its been so long ive forgot!

  8. thats the issue really, im struggling to get it to hold boost right. in second and 3rd i get 1bar pretty quick but as soon as it hits peak boost it drops right down to around 10psi. in 4th the problem is not so bad.

now it may be something as simple as a boost/exhaust leak, boost controller/ wastegate issue

(running straight off the wastegate it only only gets 8psi even though its a 1bar spring???) or it could be something more complexed like the compressor ar and turbine ar being mismatched and the shaft looses all momentum when the wastegate opens, or the comp wheel being choked by the a/r of the compressor cover causing it to slow and loose boost.

i need to fully strip it down and change all gaskets and check pipework but i just cant find the time!

i had a power run at a straight 10psi and got 179bhp. not bad as it was also overfueling. i can see it easily making an extra 20 bhp on added boost so hopefully it beats my last one

  9. i gave it a quick coat of matt black vht but the weather over winter has made it have a bit of survace rust so gonna do it again soon. the zisco coating on my old mani burnt off in 1 minute hence me painting this one

the compressor wheel is simalar in size of the td04 and although the comprssor cover looks simailar size externally, internally it has a smaller area so wont give that td04 kinda power

  10. no i doubt you will see any real gains from it but i did it anyway!

this turbo is kinda hard to figure out to be honest power wise. my old hybrid would spin the wheels all the time in the dry in 2nd when the boost kicked in. this one hardly ever does? down on power? or just a shift in the power range that puts the power down better? who knows.

also its been so long since i drove my car on the old setup, as ive been running this one at 8psi over the winter. so i find it hard to compare the two. sometimes i feel its not as good as the old one, but then theres time i feel its really quick. same again, could be down to the change in power delivery.

    only time will tell

any one for a third one!? keirz spec 3 maybe

  11. no mate its a hybrid that i made that uses a diff compressor cover, its externally gated. no power figures yet

    Photo090.jpg

heres the new bigger compressor cover, ive also internally polished it up so it will spin up nicely!

    Photo091.jpg

    the comp end

    Photo097.jpg

shaft end, note the wastegate is welded up as i run it externally gated. lots of weld to make sure it dont leak!

    Photo096.jpg

look at the size of the outlet compared to normal ct9

    Photo101.jpg

    and here next to ct9

    Photo102.jpg

    next to Td04

  12. liam stop being a fucking car hyperchondriac!

there is fuck all wrong with your car, there never has been. its one thing after another and its getting very silly and annoying. im gonna slap it out of you boy, its not valve stems, its not burning oil, its not overheating, its not doing any thing, its all in your head so shut up and just enjoy owning the damn thing. when it actually goes bang you will know about it.

any one who sees another thread from my gay brother about imaginary problems just shoot him down.

    keiran

  13. honestly i would stay clear. i tried it was irratic, would underboost, then over boost. it eventually overboosted to 25psi even though i had set it up for 12psi and not touched it at all which killed my turbo. i have mine sat at home and i wont even give it away or try and sell it as that would just be wrong of me.

also i never got a refund as you had to go through a rediculous post it off to hdi at a cost of £££ for them to check it. which was not worth the hassle. i know im not alone in that either.
