  1. Ah I see, and basically put it through both cogs as that guide says? The guide looks helpful but really fucking confusing :/ haha What do you mean about reseat valves and tap what? you mean set the tappet clearances?
  2. Thats what im planning mate, who will i send the head to my mate just mentioned it I don't actually know myself? and will they do all that needs doing on the head? If I say minimal skinning will that still be non-interference with a 1.2mm athena?

Right, it seems as though I have to do my head gasket, and therefore, I think i'm going to tackle it myself with a mate who is a mechanic but is there a little guide on how to do it as I always feel these help? - I am thinking of doing the stem seals whilst the head is off, cambelt even tho it was done at 99k km and water pump, is there anything else that would be a good idea, and where could I get some uprated stem seals from? - As these are non- interference engines how does it work in regards to getting head skimmed and thickness of head gasket if i want to keep it non interference, I take it it is best to skim the head even though the car doesn't appear to have overheated as yet? What head gasket will be best to run 1 bar ish on TD04, I hear Athena, and where would i get one of these from? Finally is there anything else I need to beware of, for instance i think i've read before theres something you need to do when removing the cams to stop a spring coming loose or the engine will rattle or something?
  4. Not as yet mate I'm gonna do that on my day off, I did it a year ago but not since, should I hose out the rad and then take thermo out and do engine?

  6. Weird mate, typical mine did it on way down to see dean and get my td04 fitted, so I can't even give it anything lol, had to call my map off as well, fuck it I think I'm gonna do hg, Cambelt again, water pump and valve seals to sort it out good and proper

  8. I've done a comp test got 172 176 175 175 literally a week before I noticed the pipes hard, ill get a co test done and then make a thread asking how to do the hg if need be lol
  9. Mines just started making the rad pipes hard when the engine warms up, do I have the same issue?
  10. Really? Hmm maybe it might be normal then, wasn't sure it's always been like that lol. How about the temp of the bottom pipe, if I'm parked up idling the bottom pipe warms up, not heard the fan kick in in this weather however...but if I pull up from driving and check it appears to be cold....that normal?

I noticed yesterday after a long drive that a bit of coolant had come out of the expansion tank, maybe not helped by the capto exp tank being loose.....but anyway for piece of mind ive changed the thermostat and also rad cap(motor factors gave me 1.1 bar as opposed to genuine being 0.9 Ive noticed after driving around for a bit once the engine is warm the rad pipes get a little hard, the bottom hose is sometimes hot like the top and others not( i assume this is due to how long driving how long parked idling? Now is the pipe stiffness serious, am i gonna need to do the headgasket or is there anything eldr?

  22. The Thing I don't like about rolling is it can cause a trap for water and grit and stuff which isn't easily cleaned so can cause rust, or so I heard
  23. Yeah the line screws onto this after this has screwed onto the turbo. That sounds good then, heard good things about Dave(r.i.p)

  25. Something similar mate i'll get a quick pic? Ah really? Yeah i read somewhere late td04's came with a really fine holed bolt or something and mines from a 52 plate car so didnt want to over feed it thats all
