I wouldn't worry about that difference in RMS. It is only a small percentage difference plus it will be underpowered not overpowered so it won't damage anyything. Also, cool prezzies!

I wouldn't worry about the corrosion. Just get yourself an import and it should be rust free. Most companies won't charge you more for an MX5 import because all parts are fully interchangeable with the UK model (it is the same car)

Just a thought: Surely handling must be adversely affected by pushing the weight distribution further forward? I know you can overcome this with good suspension set-up but in general must make the car a little tail light
