  5. Dropped the gearbox this weekend and replaced the sandwich plate which was truly fooked! Been having trouble getting oil pressure again, so decided to take the car to my mates brothers garage. They specialise in MR2's but have worked on some starlets over the years! Loaded her onto a flatbed and dropped her off! Poor girl sat in all that mud but hopefully the problem will be sorted and she can go for mapping soon! Meanwhile my mates just send me things like this!!!

    Oil Pressure

Been having some problems getting oil pressure which i thought where due to the engine being sat for a few months. Last weekend I primed the oil pump by putting some oil down the oil filter hole which seemed to work and i got oil to the turbo. I only ran the engine for a few seconds before it started making a nasty noise (flywheel hitting gearbox sandwich plate). When i went to start the car the following weekend the oil light is back on, so removed plugs, efi ect and cranked her over and no oil to the turbo again.. Anyone got any idea's? Cheers, Charlie
  8. I took a better look at this, and its 100% the flywheel hitting the sandwich plate. But now I've lost oil pressure again so something isn't right Hoping to take it over to my mates garage
  9. Filter hole I mean not hose! Where the oil filter screws on. The reason your not getting oil pressure is because the oil pump is empty and can't make a vacuum to draw oil in. So you need to prime it using the method above. Leave your turbo supply line off and you'll get oil coming out after a few cranks. The oil you put into the funnel won't go down too much so don't worry that it's not sucking it all in! Good luck
  10. Remove spark plug, king lead & EFI fuse. Remove your oil filter and get a large piece of silicone house and put it over the filter hose. Attach a funnel to the other end and fill it with engine oil. Hold the pipe up high above the engine and get someone to crank the car over. Will soon have engine oil pressure.
  11. I had this problem the other day. Do not start your car without oil pressure
  12. Yeah, never by a starlet from lads in High Wycombe! 99% of the time will be a complete shitter!! When to look at a Glanza they had up for £4k! paintwork was awful, boost pipes where held on with cable ties, no center console ect... Unfortunately I've seen someone on the forum did buy it, hopefully they can get it back to a nice car!
  13. So I've got my car running on the standard ECU and injectors. Is it ok to drive to a mappers? Obviously i will stay off boost at all times. Cheers, Charlie
  14. Looking good mate! Making good progress! What engine management you planning to use?
  15. Got a blitz nur spec exhaust system and 460cc injectors bud. Not sure if that exhaust system is big enough, but we'll find out!
  16. I've got a GFB boost controller & Cusco LSD
  17. Ok thanks bud Will update when i get it back from mapping
  18. Got a 0.8bar wastegate spring so cant run anything more than 1.6bar. Be very happy with anything above 300bhp
  19. Just wondered what power i should see with the following spec; Spec as follows; Forged Engine TD05 18g Turbo WEPR Top Mount Turbosmart Wasetgate 460cc Injectors Emanage Ultimate Going for mapping @ TD on the 7th Feb!
  20. Had abit of a nightmare this weekend with the car, spent all day Saturday trying to gain oil pressure. I tried numerous ways, and in the end was very close to just turning the car on and praying for the best! But after a phone call to a friends brother who owns a garage and mods MR2's he suggested removing the oil filter and attaching a large silicone hose to it. I filled the silicone hose with oil and had my mate crank the engine and after a few attempts bingo! So with the oil pressure problem sorted we connected the king lead, put the oil filter and spark plugs in and fired her up! This
  21. I also have a "Friendly" MOT tester who checks everything but emissions!
