this is what someone else who deals with high performance cars has just said Resetting the ECU to revert it back to "learning" mode will allow it to map itself for the fuel. As the higher the octane the less you need per cm^3 to produce the same force on the piston as you would with lesser octane fuels. So once the ECU has "learnt" and mapped itself (from the base map) then you'll find the throttle will be more responsive and mid range torque should increase. im sorry and i dont wanna start an arguement but if you look at the principals of an internal combustion engine. basically a fundamental point is , the hotter the fuel burns , the faster the engine will run. so why is it you think that none of that energy will be transferred to the wheels. if when you say a starlet turbo comes over here from japland does the ECU adjust and then run to the right idle and levels. how is my sprotif any different. surely thats what the ECU does. learn from they way i drive and what i put in the car. the same way it did when i changed the manifold and induction ?

it will work. has anyone heard of resetting their ECU.... this is what im going to do tonight and fill her up will 99 RON from tesco's then follow the steps i have been given and the ECU will set itself to adapt to the way i drive the car and the higher octane fuel...
