  1. Have to agree with Socks here mate in my time spent as a mechanic French cars are the avoid at all costs lol. Enjoy anyway have you sold the starlet?
  2. It doesnt have proximity sensors. Just when the sensitivity is turned up then a truck or a car with a loud exhaust can set it off. Ofcourse the sensitivity can be turned down which im sure could prevent this. Apart from that great alarm.
  3. As above knackered tyre or wheel bud. Even a tyre on a wheel that is not balanced wouldnt cause serious wobble unless the wheel is buckled also. Mine was really bad for this. Got new alloys straight out the wrapper what a difference. If you have them spun on a wheel balancer you can easily spot the offender. If its only 1 or 2 of the wheels get them all balanced and stick the buckled ones on the back until you have money for new wheels.
  4. Right boys got a few bits at the weekend. Got an HKS actuator and a boost gauge and oil temp gauge. 1st of all is the actuator do-able while the turbo is still on the car cant be bothered with it turning into a mssive job. 2ndly the wiring. Boost gauge has vacuum pipe and 3 wires red black orange. red n black i assume are live and earth. Is orange maybe a remote for a dimmer or sumthing? What vacuum pipe do i break into for the gauge and where do i get the wee splitters that i plug the pipe into? 3rdly the oil temp sensor has 4 wires. Red black blue purple again live earth and 2 that go to the
  5. Haha you bad man dont tease me haha. Sound bud no worries.
  6. u get that from some breaking or what?
  7. Anyone interested in a swap for a Blitz Nur Spec R. I want something quieter you may want something louder lol. Cheers
  8. If you havent greased the pads and they were tight going in the could easily jam. Also make sure the slides on the caliper move freely this could be causing 1 pad to stick on and the burning smell. The juddering could be down to your disc being warped from the heat of them jamming on if thats the case you will need new discs. Dont worry bout the shims just get yourself some copper grease or brake paste on there.
  9. Paul any of your de-cats for a CT9?
  10. Aw well hes just gona have to fork out then lol.
  11. I meant more about cheap ones off ebay rather than ones from idworkz would have imagined those would be of a good quality. Anyway good luck with fitting it bud.
  12. Mate hes on the Skyline OC but hes been starting the the thread so i dont know how good he has been at describing it. We tried the AFM on it others options are coilpacks and some sort of CAS sensor which to me looks like a camshaft position sensor but it looks like you can rotate it on its mounts. Others said it could be over fuelling which im assumming is due to that sensor. Some people have said ECUs aswell would sort it they honestly was like 5 different causes i think you can get MINES ECUs for them. Gettin to the point now its just gettin irritating had it 6 months and never experienced i
  13. Dont want to tread on toes here but you might be better off buying the gaskets from toyota. Sometimes in the case of gaskets you get what you pay for and they just break up under the intense heat from the cat. Also correct me if im wrong but is there not already studs on the cat? or is it bolts? If it is go to your local industrial supplies and get your bolts to fit the holes and some nice washers n spring washers to keep them tight will cost you a couple quid at most.
  14. Buy halfords professional tools i think they are called halfords advanced now. Good if your on a budget and cant afford snap on but you get the same life time guaruntee. Chewing screws and bolts are just down to the wrong approach or wrong tool always check star screws are either philips or pozidrive invest in a can of WD40 along with your hammer and molies will be the best tools you own.
  15. I have this alarm fitted to mine its a great alarm never had any problems fobs work from a good distance. Only thing i can say is dont park your car on a busy street lol http://www.directcarparts.co.uk/product/400/sterling_cat1/toad-sterling-one-alarm-system-thatcham-cat-1.html
  16. Awryt aye a suppose you probly just plug it until your usin an afr or suhin. Fuck knows maybe some one else knows better. Paul hink av cracked the issue with the skyline!! ull see this at some point lol.
  17. See that boost creep causing the fuel cut is what i think might be wrong with ma pals skyline weev been stumped by whats causing it for ages when you put it under load from low revs in a high gear as it comes up throught the revs and starts to boost it just thumps like your hittin a limiter n someone has hit the brakes. It caused him to blow a turbo and blew the turbine right down the exhaust pipe lol. Hes running a straight through HKS exhaust and a trust intake. With a standard ECU. I bet thats what it is thats causing it. Tell him to get an adjustable actuator and an ECU shud sort it then.
  18. Shaun see if your getting boost creep when your accelerating with the engine under load the fuel cut on the ECU wud kick in and seem like your hitting a limiter wouldnt it?
  19. I probably would be interested pal but not right now as i need to pay my insurance this month and im waiting on money owed to me from my work when i get that i will be starting on the car. 1 Thing i notice though this 1 doesnt look like it can be braced or mounted anywhere surely that puts strain on the turbo.
  20. I work in edinburgh mate. Ive seen a red glanza near livingston and a black gt near south gyle. Other than that i dno im sure i seen a spotted thread on tgtt with a few boys from edinburgh talking but i cudnt garuntee it lol
  21. Its hard to say with this mate as you have completely different codes. They al point to the ecu but its strange that the light goes off as normally when codes are stored it would stay on constantly. Whats the spec of the engine? any mods that could be causing this it could be the smallest of things throwing it all off. Me id check your air intake and intake manifold for cracks or damaged wires going to any sensors in it.Have a look at your dizzy and all your ignition under the bonnet. IMO id favour a loose connection or faulty sensor on there somewhere.
  22. Aye well there no bad now u can get 1 for bout 8k and u do get alot of stuff for your money its comfy and does feel good quality there just not designed to go round crners thats their only fault i guess and the economy lol. Jus wished id saved money and bought her a starlet instead haha dno what she wudda said to that one though.
  23. Aye mate av got a blue vxr and its just a fuckin drag. It looks the beans and goes queality in a straight line but habdling is pish breaks squeek like fuck and it gets about 22mpg on a good day. Cost me a fortune. Ill be having somthing very tidy in the future though soon as i can afford to get rid of it.
  24. Wudny mind seeing that. Aye up here its all civic type r's integras evo's scoobies focus rs's because its rife for dodgies about here lol. Av got a VXR haha.
  25. Awryt i see ill needty try that then how do i go about waxing it? and what kinda wax shud a use? Is his actual motor bronze? Dont hink av seen a bronze glanza could be interestin. Am fae dumbarton and as far as i know ive the only Glanza here but paul might correct me on that. As for tht only interestin motor is ma pals hes got an R33 GTST skyline. Its just a complete monster paul can vouch for it ;) needs a bit of work but has the potential. You should get your pals n bounce up 1 weekend. When theres some nice weather am sure shaun wud take a wee jont down for a swatch at a few Glanzas lol.
