I dont think the NA boys will have any trouble, only prob with turbo cars at those sustained speeds is that they cook them selves!
-
Im a bit nervous taking the car back on it, its the hardest track on the engine i have been on out of all the track days i have done. Its purely because its so fast with long sweeping corners which you dont really brake for except for a couple, you literally drive around it 90% of the time doing about 140mph! I also noticed they have changed the track time from 15minutes last year to 18minute sessions
-
From Trax last year the track isnt that bad on tyres or brakes, what i couldnt believe was how wide the whole track was, i spun my car at about 100mph last year and still stayed on the track lol, you gotta go on it to believe it, its HUGE. Plus the straights are so long you literally max out your cars top speed, I managed to overheat the GT and knacker it last year so make sure you all keep an eye on your temps while going around, driving at those speeds is really heavy on the engine. Good fun but its so massive it takes ages to remember where all the turns are

Lol he didnt crash or blow up did he? He did post he needed two lanes to keep it in a straight line!! quote name='B11G KY' date='Aug 22 2011, 04:08 PM' post='601677'] Wow this is an old thred dude... cars been broken and sold since then lol

SHIT! i just gone to book my track time and its completly sold out for all sessions, what the hell, there was loads available last year. Dam, gonna have to hunt around google now for people selling theirs!

I believe i paid £49.99 when i sent mine on a crate with interparcel, click pallete service on the right, i got mine on a small pallete. I paid extra for the taillift but when the guy turned up we just both picked it up and carried it on. Guess it depends on whos driving though! http://www.interparcel.com/ I provided my own pallete

Check the belts and see if they look slack, there are two of them, power steering belt, and your alternator. The power steering one has adjustment on the pump its self, i belive its one bolt to loosen it and then a screw like adjuster, the pump is closest to the front of the car on the left side. Alternator is a bit more of a pain in the arse as you will need to get underneath to loosen the bolt which goes through the alternator its self, once thats loose use a bar of some kind to push the alternator to get some tension on the belt and then tighten it up. Hey presto should get rid of the squ

Yeah that should be cool, i'll have to put the passenger seat back in as i took it out to get a good view with the video cam. Think i am gonna do 3 sessions again Should be fun, just hope the bottom end on the car doesnt go again like last year!!

I'll ask him, i'll never get it done in time for Trax Gonna take the EP82
-
Does anyone know which make and model i can get a set of 15" steel wheels to fit this car?
-
Yay i got the car yesterday and I LOVE IT!! its so retro looking, i cant believe how small it is compared to the ep82 too. Its nippy for a 1.0litre, 650-750kg on the vin plate., so will br brill on track when i have finished with it! Either way its brilliant lol and as a bonus classic car insurance, £105! ha ha

Just noticed i have put this in the wrong section, can someone move it to the EP70 realm please
-
If i use the 82 loom though, how is the ignition on the cars steering wheel going to work?
-
I have had mine in two places, on a pillar pod and on the central dash i much prefer them in the centre the pilar ones i found were difficult to look at properly.

Good times, which starlet to take, I wonder if i can change the engine before Trax!
-
There is a guide on TGTT on how to change the engine its here http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showth...-Engine-Guide-* It does miss a few things out, but its 95% complete on how to do it, all i can which is REALLY important. Is to get some sticker labels and number every single pipe and connector on the engine, every time you pull a pipe off, number it. Do this for all of them, it makes it so much easier to put back together when you put it all back in being the first time you have done it. I didnt do this the first time and it was abloody nightmare Any other probs you can post in here

I am gonna drive it for a week or two while i am figuring everything out with stuff going where from the ep82 to the ep70. The wiring is going to be a right bitch, im in 2 minds to completly take out the ep70 loom and put in the ep82 one with the ep82 dash, or existing dash combination of the ep70 loom powering all the electrics and then the ep82 just doing the engine management, fuel pump etc. What you reckcon? I think im more inclined to keep the old skool dash, i like it Its going to be a bit of pig i think and alot of stress working it all out. I think I am going to transfer everything

Maybe 14's then, its all dependent on if i can get the WMS brakes behind them i have ordered!
-
I like it without the side plastic scuff things too, do you reckon there will be paint under them if i take them off?
-
Its getting black 15" steelies to keep the sleeper look and a set of coilovers are going on it Like the ones below...
-
Ha ha brilliant, i really like what i am gonna do to this one as it will allow me to use my car more, My EP82 is amazing on track now, but its so track geared its completely ruined it on the road as its so bloody noisy/crazy/bumpy, it only likes flat roads!! Great thing with this EP70 is that its loads lighter than my EP82 and i dont even need to strip it. I want to make it a complete sleeper so no mad coloured wheels nothing, it will look completely stock aside from being sat lower. but at the same time handle great on track and have drive-ability on the road so i can go for blasts on the we
