  1. Finally got my dials all hooked up and working, bless you oil cooler
  2. Mine is still going 6 months on, just make sure you brace it against your gearbox to prevent any possible cracking but yes as above the after sales service with toyosports is shocking. The guy knows fuck all about cars surprisingly and when i queried something i just got the usual sales bull shit trying to fob me off!
  3. Yeah on track about 24psi rear 26psi front, you dont need much as the tyres get very hot and the air expands, so less is better.
  4. Like the other guys have said if you want real track performance grip, go for either the toyo R888, or if you can afford it and want the best go for the Yokohama A047 They are so soft you can put your nail into them and they are like glue on track, awsome tyres, but with that you trade off life of the tyre. On the road you would probably only get about 6-8000 miles out of them, where as you would get double that with T1R's. Down to preference i guess, what do you use it more for, track of day use?
  5. lol i guess you should have rear my thread about it first! http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....osports+gaskets
  6. car was looking sweet on the day, you had a big grin on your face too when you came off the 2nd track session so i knew you enjoyed I cant wait to do another one now!
  7. yeah thats a very valid point, not so good in the wet!!
  8. aww really gutted for you, you did say its been playing up for a while. I would have thought a HG repair would only be a few hundred quid though?
  9. I was wondering why my oil temp never went above 60 degrees i have fitted the dam temp sensor after the oil cooler so its reading the cooled oil temp going back into the engine lol
  10. Sparky: Yeah i would be well up for that, Llandow is a nice track and local too so an easy track day out, whos organising it and what car you in? Bogie: Yokohama A048's, road legal semi slick tyre (used on the lotus elises and exige cars) only problem is its bloody expensive. http://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/78...48-elise-tyres/ they are 195x50x15 Really expensive tyre to buy new but i go on the elise forums seloc.org or ebay and buy part worn ones, the grip on them is amazing even better than the Toyo R888 tyre. Can usually get a pair for about £50-£100 part worn,
  11. ha ha yes i know this corner well
  12. is there any way we can extend the deadline on this i dont get paid until the 24th, also is the £19 track time offer only valid until then, as i know its normally £30 a sesh which is expensive!
  13. Yeah defo, i decided against fitting the oil cooler at such short notice, couldnt risk leaks and stuff on the day being untested, so it meant i didnt have the dials hooked up. Amjad said he was hitting about 110 degrees on his and not going any higher. My car never went above mid point on the stock temp dial, i think not having the turbo connected to the water circuit has made a massive difference to engine temps on boost. I am fitting it tonight so will let you know how i get on.
  14. Ryan: Hahha i didnt think i could convert him from his Civics lol I have bad memories of this place last year, i did 4 track sessions and on the 4th my bottom end went on my starlet This track is REALLY fast, you need to be doing over 100mph most of the time your going around it, its really really heavy on the engine. Either way though my name is down, might only do 3 sessions though this time lol This is a BIG track, takes ages to do 1 lap
  15. gutted the camera angle sucked so much, the guy in the briefing said no camera suction mounts so i hid it in the back Gonna buy a decent camera next time and get some good HD video, makes for good watching when you get home.
  16. yeah probably could have gone around redgate faster if i slowed down and followed the apex lol, but flying in and drifting sideways seemed to be more fun for the crowd lol
  17. Yeah i think the soft rubber i had on just picked all the stones up like glue, they were flying off everywhere
  18. few things could have done it, did he skim the head, if your replacing a head gasket you should always get it skimmed, irrespective if you think its straight or not, for the cost its not worth risking it. He also would have had to torque the head down to the specified Nm limits and also in the correct order. If it has gone 3 weeks after he has done it, he hasn't done it properly.
  19. Thx comments are always nice to read I gave a couple of the lads passenger rides this time as it seemed a bit pointless going around on my own, i was willing to put up with the extra weight ha ha. Gonna get that bloody oil cooler on tonight now with any luck and then next month its big brakes. I think after that I will tidy up the interior(not that there is much of it!), the Cobra bucket seats are old and torn so will ditch em for some new ones. Taggy
  20. lol bit of a slide on at 2:00, then a massive wobble at 5:10! (same corner) then it was bound to happen pushing it harder and harder a spin (same bloody corner, with everyone watching!) 8:10 ooooppsss kitty litter time
  21. I recorded the session L (2nd one) inside the car while i was going around, unfortunately the camera angle is shit and you cant see straight out of the dam window! Its good at least to see us having a great time, the car sliding, spinning off and generally terrorising everything on track (starlet is a Scoobie eater lol!) If you have any other vids post em up http://youtu.be/PYW-JpiYmLg Taggy
  22. Brilliant, no hand brake the back end was just a bit slippery, I have got track tyres on the front but not back so the tail was a bit light. Will change those for next time
