  1. Want a cuddle?

    Cunt haha! Yes I do.

Totally agree Adam far to much arguing lately not good for the new members that are joining up and all they see is crap. this place isn't like that its a nice place. we are like a family and willing to help a brother out if needed. :D

p,s that tune was quite good lol

It is a good place mate. 99% of the members are spot on. Even some I bicker with I really don't mind much lol. But there are a few cunts lol. Admins need to stop being so nice imo and stsrt smashing that ban hammer when there's a dodgy potatoe.

  2. Correct. If the Eml doesn't come on oil press doesn't come on and there is no fuel or spark then it's gor to be a fairly "structural" part of the management system. I think it will be one of the bigger fuses or relays. Might have shorted something without knowing when you put the better on or something. Maybe when you took it off.

  3. No certainly not the forum - blaming the forum for it would be naive. I think the popularity and availability of 4efte equipped vehicles means that just about anyone can get one relatovely easy now. Where as 'back in the day' they were ultra rare you'd see another then be chasing eachother to pull over for a chat. Prices were massive parts were all mainly from japland. It's the evolution I guess hopefully one that'll be phased out when vxrs etc becone dirt cheap lol.

Lmao aren't vxrs already in a bad position?? I see what you mean though. Eventually it will go back like that before they all die out I guess. Maybe then we can get a vxr because it's hard to come by lol!

  4. Everyone keeps arguing recently. I'm proper fucking fed up of arguing. Fed up of the odd few ripping people off.

This will lighten the mood. It's funny. But also kinda how I feel about cars at the moment lol! And it's not actually a bad song.

    Peace out.

  5. As per addzz comment but it's really disgusting how much scamming is about now and how complicated it's becoming.

It'd be a huge shame for the admin staff to be forced to shut down the for sale side of things as it saves sellers a huge amount in ebay fees and is a very easy and fast way of buying and selling niche parts.

There's a select few on here I'd truly trust sending money to. I mentioned to socks and something I've always been warey of is breakers. I've seen it time and time again... they think they won't be on forums any more and don't bother sending or are hugely dishonest - the funny part is they usually arrive a few months later apologetic or acting as though nothing took place.

I don't currently own a starlet but every time I've sold up and put bits on here (3 times) I've always been honest and sent the parts swiftly. I don't understand how people can sell parts knowingly faulty or not even send at all.

Look at the community that has evolved of the starlet scene it used to be semi matured decent guys now it's full of teens living off mummies titties still abusing these cars and the community.

It's not related to the forum, the whole scene is the same. Ebay, facebook etc. I think the whole car modifying scene is dying because of idiots.

Also I feel we all just focus on the negatives recently. I seem to be having an argument every other day with someone about something completely stupid when we should be having a laugh instead.

Everyone seems full of anger and hate lol!

I'm gonna go post something funny and cheer everyone up for a change haha.

  6. If that has happened to you, then screen shot all the messages and send them to paypal in the dispute. Explain he has already been banned on the forum and is using a different name. If it really is him again and he's ripping people off then you should probably get the police involved.

  7. Aaddzz123, so to do the water pump I won't have to remove cambelt again? I'm guessing it's run by an aux belt?

    Hope so! Lol

My crank seal isn't leaking yet, but if the budget isn't too tight ill replace!

I've got access to battery and air gun so hopefully the pulley bolt shouldn't be hard, as for the pulley any tips on "how not to" lol,

thanks for the help by the way guys, much appreciated

Nope the water pump runs off the same belt as the alternator. Few tips from memory would be to keep the hard pipe connected to the housing, take the rubber hose off the end of it, unbolt the hard pipe from the block, unbolt the 3 nuts that bolt the pump housing to the block and take it all off as one unit. You cannot take the pump off with the engine mount in the way or something. I can't remember exactly... I think the alternator has to come off too so that the pump can fit down the back, but it's only a few bolts.

  8. Really, it's not very big? Got a pic of oem amp?

Yeah I doubt my car is a snow edition :| Ahhh where's the heat matrix, is it easy to check mine? Also I have the "Auto" setting on my heater controls, which is like the special climate control thingy right?

I'm afraid the heater matrix is tucked up behind the dash and isn't really accessible what so ever unless you take the dash and heater box out lol! It's a shit job. I'm on my way to work on my GT now and have an amp so I'll upload a picture.

  9. As grant said.

The box will be an Amp for the stereo.

The heater pipes I'm unsure! Sock's reckons it's a snow edition thing however I'm sure the car we removed them from wasn't a snow edition. I think it was more of an optional extra for rear foot heaters... The car also had an oversized heater matrix! Twice the size. Whether it's related or not I'm not sure.

  10. I'd get a rattle gun for the pulley bolt, but it's not required. You can also use a tool which holds the pulley by slotting into the two holes on the face... It's quite tricky to get the pulley off without chipping it usually. It took me about half an hour to remove one last night and ended up chipping it lol, it's not a massive problem and realistically not even noticeable (with regards to balance). In the end though we did make a custom pulley puller to remove them after the hassle. I'll upload a photo of it later to give you an idea.

As for the rest of it, it's pretty straight forward if you've done a belt before. Make sure to line the cam up with the 4E hole and the crank gear has a mark in line with the oil pump.

Water pump isn't related to the cam belt and is quite easy to change from underneath. You would have to remove both the ancillary belts again but that's all.

I'd consider changing the crank seal as 5T4R7ET N/A suggested as they do leak more often than not.

Tensioner and idler I'd recommend if you're not sure how old they are. I've changed a few that were noisy.

  11. This sounds like a management problem to me. I would double check all plugs are connected in the fuse boxes and into the ECU, make sure the wiring around the ignition is all done correctly after removing the alarm. It could be related to the EFI fuse if you've not tried that yet. Swap it out for another and see if there is any difference.

If the problem occurred after the car being sat, then putting a battery on, it can only really be down to basics such as a fuse when the battery was put on, rubber perishing or corrosion on terminals if wet etc....

Try and look at it from a different point of view and go over it all again! Start with the basics.
