  1. Antilag is shet, if you want some real flames, do what i did to get a real flames, in which i cant disclose. I could produce the above pic even when driving. Would make all those ricers beg for mercy. Already did.
  2. Anybody know what this is, I certainly wouldn't want that taking a bite of my ass. More pics here:
  3. if its knocking on cold startup, that will tell you its got forged pistons.
  4. from a parts shop or from toyota. The camshaft seal is the same as the front crank seal. 4efe/4efte.
  5. a drill with wire wheel will get rid of everything. After all gasket material is gone, rub the block with fine sand paper.
  6. Oi jack, let me give you a reality check. When i was around 8yo i started pulling 2 stroke engines and car engines apart for fun and play, i used to read workshop manuals, i used to pull anything car related or engine related apart. This is where you normally start learning. This is were i started learning about cars and engines. I sure as hell didnt take a bugatti veyron apart at the age of 8. See the thing is, your at a age where your at my starting age of playing with engines. Its like me at 8 years old taking a evo 4g63 apart. You get it, your abit late dude. what were you doing all
  7. i can see a disaster so far and will only get worse. The starlet GT is definatly not a car for a novice like yourself to play around with. You may think its funny, but afterall, its you that will end up paying $$$$ to fix any stuff ups. Going by what is already in this thread, you should stop completely and give it to someone that knows what their doing.
  8. dont worry about drilling/tapping etc, if your that desperate, get a oil filter relocation kit, that will solve the issue. I considered a engine replacement with a 4e and i done my homework. The quickest way is to get a relocation kit and its done.
  9. Possibly no one here knows but i will give it a try. 1. Caldina ST215 with tiptronic automatic transmission AIM: Manual conversion Question: Whilst using the standard ecu, can it operate without it getting signals from the transmission. Is the automatic transmission control box connected to the ecu in any way. Are they completely seperate, or does the ecu pickup car speed and adjust the ecu parameters accordingly. Since the automatic transmission in the caldina is somewhat electronically sophisticated, i was wondering if a manual conversion would allow the ecu to operate as normal, you k
  10. There is a problem with new headbolts and its a major issue, what is it, i wont say, because untill i get my thread unlocked about my project car, your going into unkown costly territory with new head bolts. You can reuse the old bolts, pending you dont strip the inside splines.
  11. That turbo looks crazily powerfull now. I bet thats a T04 compressor.
  12. I removed my starlet gt head 4 times in a month. i can do it eyes closed. Doing it is no different to any other car.
  13. I'm afraid that is abit incorrect. Starting from the timing belt side: Intake caps: I2, I3, I4,I5 Exaust caps: E2,E3,E4,E5 There is no 1. Make sure the arrows are facing towards the timing belt.
  14. just buy my TD04L conversion package and you will be set for life.
  15. If the n/a rods are strong, maybe 10psi would be good for a street setup. I would not go to the extent of making forged rods to suit a 2.2 to boost it to 20psi, because the pistons would be high comp. Too expensive route. I was just thinking of a quick street 2.2 turbo.
  16. because i was just thinking this > Install the standard 2.2 turbo it Run 5 psi boost Shouldnt it be alot better kinda than a 2 litre. Its kinda like stroked to say the least.
  17. The engine is a N/A engine from the celica, a 2.2 litre donk. My question is, if this were turbocharged, would this setup make 40,000hp, in other words, a locomotive pulling starlet. Would be it better than a 3sgte even.
  18. A quik tip for anyone using brand new bolts from Toyota. When your done your head gasket and after you got car to operating temp, remove the valve cover and tighten number 4 exhuast bolt to spec AGAIN!. The exhuast bolt right under the dizzy. This bolt always gets loose, so far twice on me. Yup, brand new bolts tourqed to spec and it becomes loose bigtime after its heat cycle.
  19. How much boost could a glanza rodded engine last for. or power/revs.
  20. The following pics below is of my intercooler system as done by the previous owner. As you can see, the previous owner did a bodgey ass job of sealing. On the turbo outlet side, there is a 3 inch silicone hose joining a 2.5 inch metal pipe that joins to the 2 1/4 inch intercooler pipe inlet. On the intercooler outlet side, the 2 1/4 inch outlet is joined via a 2.5 inch silicone hose. As you may have possibly read in the drag section, i did a 16.0 flat down the quater mile. Looks like this intercooler bodgey sealing may have contributed to the poor time. IC 2 1/4 outlet joined with a 2.5 i
  21. Do a compression check in the water system via radiator. You may have a cracked head.
  22. 1st drag race since 7 years ago in another turbo car. I need a monster size BOV, as car has none and flutters like a dinosaur and contributes to my shit time. Car is tuned for 12psi, i only pushed it to 10ish only. On the street, this car feels like a 13 second car at least, absolute monster, but at the drags, pffff, shet time. Wheelspin plus no bov i reckon contributes to this. On the last run, i did a pre stage burnout, the car slingshotted all the way to the staging lights. This car is extremely boost responsive. I just belive the back flow of air into the turbo due to no bov is causing the
  23. 1000kms later on an un-tensioned cam = no problem at all. I have no issues whatsoever.
  24. I doubt that ^ very much. I had no clue about that so called serice bolt thingy and i dont have a noisy head.
