  1. I agree completely, but the limit still needs to be in place, i don't fancy not having it.
  2. Oh i have a rev counter.......i just don't trust its acuraccy 100%. When i'm raising the limit, i REALLY want to know what it is to start with, don't fancy getting it wrong and overdoing it for obvious reasons.
  3. I'm hoping that will change once the rolla manifold is on and the motec is mapped. It's being wired in on monday but i need to know what the stock rpm limit is so i know how much i can safely raise it by.
  4. Can someone tell me the rpm the limiter cuts in on my sportif please? I don't want to be just guessing from the dash.
  5. Yes, that's what i meant, lol. Oh well, if it wasn't compulsory til 2001 then not to worry. Back to the laptop through the motc when it's fitted then. Was hoping to use one of these gizmo's though as they're a lot smaller than a laptop.
  6. Do you mean it converts the stock toyota plug to an OBD II port?
  7. LOL, you were right the first time. It's not a diagnostic test i'm after. I've been looking at a gizmo that plugs into a OBD II port and reads off of the sensors in real time to give you info on water temp, rpm, speed, etc. whatever sensors you have on the car basically. I thought every car post 96 was supposed to have one, they obviously missed the starlet.
  8. Does my 97 sportif have one of these, or is it just the diagnostic port under the bonnet only?
  9. Thanks my friend, should be able to work it out from that.....if i can remember how to do it.
  10. 2 questions......... What size are our injectors and what size are the jap ones? And about the distributorless ignition. Does it use individual coils on top of each plug or wasted spark from a single coil?
  11. Nothing special at all my friend. I had the motec on my mr2 which is now dead, so as i've got it i might as well use it. Should gain a small amount of power and get much better fuel economy.
  12. Nope, afraid not. Santa Pod sounds good though, didn't get there once last year. Got my motec going on very soon, just need the corolla manifold first though really before i get it mapped.
  13. Excellent, thanks mate, i shall see what i can find.
  14. That's in the tailgate isn't it?
  15. And until someone can prove it one way or the other that's all any of us can do. Mine should be starting it's diet soon so that'll help. Speaking to Corbeau about fitting my pro series seats into mine. Lightweight wheels help to as there's less weight to turn so the Enkei's are a big help. There's a lot more to it than just power. The glanza's have a major torque advantage over an n/a though which us n/a owners will never get around.
  16. Oh trust me, i'm not arguing about any of it. Im definately a person to go by hard evidence not pub talk. I've had too much of it when i had my mr2, people saying it couldn't do what i said it could. But they soon had to shut up when it was proved time and time again at santa pod, ten of the best, the jtuner thrash and various times on a dyno in front of witnesses. Low 9's from an n/a starlet might be possible i guess but i would like to prove it for myself. but yes, a stop watch to do it is a waste of time, you can never start it at the right time for starters and any innacuracy in the spee
  17. My rear wiper doesn't work on intermittent. Now this obviously isn't a major problem but i would like to solve it. Anyone know if it's likely to be the stalk on the column or something the other end?
  18. I was going to say the Enkei's until i saw those Speedlines. Not that i dislike the stock Speedline's but i do prefer the Enkei's. Done in white with the red touches though has made me change my mind. Good work.
  19. I have no idea about the 0-60 time to be honest as it's not something i've even thought about trying to find out. As for beating either a focus or a passat, i have no idea on that one either really, neither are particularly fast cars. The only point i'm making is that the extra 55hp that the passat had was probably needed to overcome the weight difference anyway, the big difference would have come from the torque difference i should imagine. Weight has a hell of a lot to do with how fast a car accelerates and 600+kgs difference between the two cars is a very large amount.
  20. Very true, but 800kgs instead of 1400kgs or whatever a passat weighs makes a hell of a difference too.
  21. I should expect the sportif to be quicker anyway as it doesn't have all the electronics on it (extra weight) that the SR does.
  22. That does look really good mate, certainly a few things on there i'll be using for inspiration. The TTE spoiler is on mine now and looks exactly how i wanted. I'll get some pics up at some point. Thanks again for selling, lol.
