  1. I do think it looks a lot neater. Probably will be going this route i reckon.
  2. Really not sure yet. Haven't decided whether to relocate that one down into the front bumper area or go for a TRD panel in the original airbox.
  3. Thanks mate, didn't take too long to do that side once i'd got into it, so hopefully the other side will clean up quick enough too. Might well colour code the mirrors and handles after seeing yours done. Want to spray the grey plastic of the indicators chrome too at some point.
  4. I admit there are better choices for wheels, but Earl had already put them on and i do like them anyway.
  5. Well guys, i've taken my time posting pics of it, but here it is. My 97' sportif bought from another member (Earl) back in december. Came with the SR clocks, lowered and a different custom backbox. Since then i've added the tte spoiler (cheers Idrees), clear lenses, air filter (which i'll be changing again), corolla manifold and the motec M4 Pro ecu. And the project for today, removing the side strips. Got one side done, but still need to sort the other side later or tomorrow. Opinions welcome.
  6. As soon as i've got it then i'll put it straight up for you.
  7. Not got the figure yet mate, we forgot to do it at the time, but i emailed him last night and asked if he could work it out from the map for me. So hopefully i'll know in the next few days.
  8. Not yet no, this was just a first map to see what we could get and if it gave any issues. More to come yet when i've sorted the ignition issue, then i'll decat amongst a few other things i have in mind too.
  9. I've got a motec M4 Pro mapped by the best in the business, Dave Rowe. Not the cheapest ecu by a long way, but a hell of a lot more acurate than anything else available.
  10. Some cheap rubbish cone filter that was donated to me, i'll be doing something better with it at some point though as i don't really like it. I want to relocate something down further towards the front of the car. It's a start though, a few other things i want to do to it aswell and then back up for another remap. I need to try and find a dizzy from a AT200 7afe engined celica as it's looking likely that it has the extra sensor i need to run full sequential injection. Not proving easy to find one to look at though.
  11. Not really sure, the manifold made a huge difference and the motec has increased that further, so there is a possibility of it yes. I've just emailed Dave to ask if he can work out a power figure from my map or if it needs to be running at the time. I think it can be done from the info in the map so hopefully he'll get back to me with a 3 figure number.
  12. Well it's done at last. Drove the 3hrs to motec HQ yesterday for god himself, Dave Rowe to map the car. The result..... pretty damn good actually, forgot to ask him for a power figure (typical ) but it feels so much better and pulls a lot stronger from lower down. On the way home i was doing pretty well to keep with my friends corolla gti that he had done the same evening. I must start taking some pics and get them up on here now.
  13. I presume you can do this the same way on a starlet as you can on an mr2, in which case you just pull the efi fuse out for a couple of minutes and then put it back again. 2 minutes is all it takes.
  14. Sod a ride in it, i'm getting the keys and showing him how to drive it properly.
  15. Sounds like an air leak if it's idling high mate, check the gaskets and that all vacuum hoses are attached properly.
  16. Once it's mapped i should be able to get a power figure from him for it. He's got a program that you input lambda, injector size and a few othere things into to give you a power figure and it's suprisingly accurate.
  17. I had it from the old car, it's vastly overkill for this engine, but as i've got it, i might as well make use of it. Even if i don't gain much power from it i should make big savings in the economy department.
  18. Looks like the actual limiter is at 6500rpm for those that want to know.
  19. You got your brothers off fine, are you trying the same things to get yours off?? And yes peeps, it's just bonded on, not a bolt in sight.
  20. After a lot of mucking about in the dark due to my impatience, i finally got my corolla manifold fitted friday night. For any of you thinking about doing this i can say it makes a big difference. Before it always seemed strangled above 4.5k, now it revs very freely right the way to the limiter. A well and truely worthy mod to do. The motec is now all wired in and is off to be mapped on thursday, so we'll see what i can get from this thing.
