Whats the fastest car u been in or driven?
Mark Edwards replied to Sparky's topic in Lifestyle General
Fastest car i've been in and driven was my 400+bhp MR2. 0-60 in under 4 seconds and geared for 191mph. Had it GPS verified at 165mph at bruntingthorpe when i ran out of road, but it was still accelerating. It had undergone some serious weight loss too. -
I like it, it means i get the TTE one Looking good, should be fitting mine at the weekend hopefully.

Our main admin guy, Esmond, actually wrote the garage program and is now being used by many forums i believe. Just have to ask him and i'm sure he'll let us have it. If not i can have a word personally and i'm sure i can convince him. -

A nice feature for the club would be a feature we have on IMOC, it's the garage feature. It allows you to input your car and all it's modification details, it's a really good feature to have. Here's an example, my car before it's death. http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/garage.php?mo...icle&CID=31 -
Thanks for that offer, much appreciated. I already got the new green sensor from toyota, but once the car is up to temperature the management light comes on and stays on still. Thought a new sensor would solve it, so i've either changed the wrong sensor or there's still a problem elsewhere.
-
Oli, is that just a black bonnet or is is carbon fibre?? Guys, where can i get the club sunstrip from??
-
Getting code 22 up still, got the new sensor in yesterday, but the management light is still coming on when it gets warm. Firstly can someone confirm it is the green sensor in the thermostat housing that i needed to change and not the grey one in the head? If i have been given the right one, then can you think why i'm still getting the management light on??

Don't know if i'm working that weekend just yet, if not then i'll definately be there.
-
Well i'm definately up for it as long as i'm not working.
-
I'd be up for brighton if i'm not working. It'll be good to meet up with some of you and get some ideas of where i'm heading with this car.

can you help me geting more power from my SR
Mark Edwards replied to Tintin_SR's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
A different ecu or at least a piggyback is definately the way forward for either an n/a or a turbo car. Almost all cars run rather rich as stock, so reducing the air/fuel ratio will give an instant increase in power. Also it will allow more ignition advance giving even further gains. I know it's overkill for an n/a, but i have the motec M4 pro from my mr2 going on at some point. This should get some at least noticable gains from the engine and also give better fuel economy at the same time from running it as it needs to be and not running rich. Unichip do a very capable piggyback as do greddy -
On this subject, does anyone make one for the uk cars?

7hp isn't bad for little work. Fitting is very simple really, Only a case of undoing the two nuts/bolts and swapping the pulleys over. Definately something on my to do list.
-
Not going to make a major difference on it's own, but as it says, it's a good start. If you can get the crankshaft pulley as well, you might notice a slight improvement, but don't expect much.
-
Lol, cheers anyway. ;)
-
Yes, i need to know which wires i need to splice into to do it.
-
The stock sportif ecu please, i've got motec diagrams coming out of my ears. lol
-
I'm going to need a wiring diagram for this to hook up my motec, can someone point me in the right direction for this if one is available please?
-
Well i've found it on the EPC. It's from a AE111 corolla between August 2000 and April 2004. Part number is 17111-27010, no idea on a new price but i will find out.
-
Cheers for that, i'll see what i can find.
-
Excellent, thanks for your help mate
-
It's more the inlet mani i was looking at straight away. I've got the motec M4 ecu from my mr2 to use so want to get some mods done to it before i get the ecu mapped for it all. So that's the AE111 corolla isn't it? Still the 1.3 engine or from a 1.6 too?
-
Thanks for that, it was your car i was just admiring actually. What is that mani you have?
-
Reading through the site and looking at other peoples cars (very impressed by the way) i keep reading about different manifolds. What could i seriously expect from a different manifold and what are my choices? Are there any other commonly done bolt on mods for the n/a too?
-
Yeah, it wasn't pleasant. I should have come out of it a lot worse at that speed though, all i got was aching neck muscles 2 days later and a small graze on the back of my head. My saving grace was the newly fitted corbeau pro series seats.
