  1. ^^^^^^^ lol yeah i know what you mean, That's what i was getting at... Being specialised in a certain part of your job is brilliant that makes you an asset to the team, but i also think you should know everything about your field of work before hand. Then specialise in a part, so if people come up to you for help you know how to tackle a wider range of problems. (Also im attached to Engineers and can i say that you lot are the most fucked up bunch of individuals that i have ever worked with No offence lol)
  2. Yeah i think you should have a good general knowledge about your field of work what ever it may be... but have some sort of specialised job. You know something that people go up to you because only you know what to do. It makes you more versatile imo, lets you take on more then you would if you only know one certain part of your job. Plus it makes you stand out from the rest if people keep going up to you for help or advice. (more browny points )
  3. "Jack of all trades, master of none" is a figure of speech used in reference to a person that is competent with many skills but is not necessarily outstanding in any particular one. (straight from Wikipedia) For example: Would you rather be a complete ninja at taking a certain type of car apart and rebuilding it with your eyes closed or know a little about many cars?? Like the American Army mechanics, they all specialise in one thing. You have "Bob" which is the engine man, "John" is the gearbox man and "Smith" is the suspension man. They were extremely good with their part of expertise but
