The cheaper ones tend to strip threads. If your swaping or removing wheels quite often the steel are the ones to go for.

Fake for that money, would be at least double the price if they were real. Go price them up on RHD Japan for an idea of what a real one costs. There is a lot of fake and copied suff on ebay these days.

Have you opened up your ECU yet like i suggested. I still think you might have an ecu that has been mapped.

Steve measure across the bolt holes to get the PCD of it then check it against the ones for sale there are 2-3 differnt pcd's used by steering wheel companys

No worries mate most of them can run launch control think it's only the real new ones that will do traction control but will have to check.

Yeah the if you get the serial number then put it into the HKS web site it will tell which version it is. Some have little coloured stickers on too

What boost is it running at the minute mate?

Few ideas: Have you got the correct HKS FCD for a starlet? Does it hit fuel cut with the boost turned up without the FCD fitted? Just wondering if you have a mapped ecu in there thats not marked up and the fcd is upsetting it. I've had a mapped ecu before with no external signs that it was mapped only when i opened it up could i see the daughter board.
