Few ideas: Have you got the correct HKS FCD for a starlet? Does it hit fuel cut with the boost turned up without the FCD fitted? Just wondering if you have a mapped ecu in there thats not marked up and the fcd is upsetting it. I've had a mapped ecu before with no external signs that it was mapped only when i opened it up could i see the daughter board.

What make of FCD did you get?

Yeah Japanese market only, would think the engine is ready for a re-fresh but then i'd expect that in any car thats 20 years old.

There are a few 4etfe ones about, they are different but the glass makes them heavy compared to a starlet and it's all quite high so makes the handling interesting. Spares are not too bad not sure what it's like now getting stuff from toyota.

Unless that has a some nice aftermarket parts on it or the body is mint it's a £500 car imo -
Is the glanza any different compared to a uk n/a
zebedee replied to Ryan5793's topic in Chassis & Suspension
The loom will be a mix of the two as you will not have all the sensors for the turbo but the looms will have ABS and air con on unlike the UK sr -

Most do yes -
I would ask the current owner what petrol the car was mapped on and stick to it. That power is getting close to where some have had problems with a stock engine as they are at least 14 years old now and most have been driven hard. I'd also have a good look roumd the D2's they will be pretty hard and have also been offered for starlet for quite some time now and i've seen a few leaky ones. Other than that there is no such thing as a TRD grille and Cobra never made rails for the starlet so i would have a good look at the seat rails as i've seen some very poor home made efforts that i would feel

Just a note but if you have the oem lsd you will need another oem lsd box or you will need a box, cover plate, driveshaft and rear geabox mount to convert it to a none oem lsd box.

Well if it will not select 1 and 2 something is up.

would check plenty chap if calipers and stuff are siezed, the auto box is shot and the engine has a blown headgasket then all you have left id a rolling GT shell. Witht there being no real aftermarket parts of value then the stock part are worth about £300 i would think. With it being an auto pretty stock and how the market is i would think you would be looking at 1200-1500 with it all working?

It's hard but set your goal from the start and then try and get the best you can get it's the changing things over and over again that will cost the money in the long run have seen people got from FCD + FPR, to a mapped ECU, to an emanage then onto a stand alone. If you can find one company that you are happy with if you need the work doing talk to them also as they could advise on the best route.
