  1. this guy knows ^ | 1.8 bar is an incredible amount of boost to run. some of it is also down to the tune obviously
  2. well whatever happens it sounds like aboost leak, even a boost contoller pipe of 5mm can contribute to a leak enough to stop boost building.
  3. tbf i dont hate the corsa at all really, great lil car,its just not a starlet lol i will keep the corsa because as i say its 950 quid a year to run on a daily basis which is peanuts. thanks for responses guys
  4. i just cant believe i sold my turboed sportif. i truely think i got to used to it as it was my daily and i didnt appreciate it as such. this corsa i have is so slugish and wallowy handling wise that a well set starlet would be such a lovely treat to get into on a weekend and i would enjoy it more. if i get another starlet i will not make that same mistake again of selling.i hate not having one and i dont want anything else performance wise. thanks dude i actually just worked out what the corsa costs me each year daily work driving, insurance, tax and its less than a grand.theres no point w
  5. i know i know, its like a triple smack in the face lol i think i can just about afford to keep it and insure a starlet so i may go for it. i do really ideally want both cars
  6. but thats how it starts, gainzy haha,i dont know if its humanely possible to have a starlet near stock ? lol i appreciate your input dude.thanks haha ollieh i have since edited, cheers. im not kidding you when i say it does 107 miles on £6.36 (motorway driving)
  7. hey guys. been ages since i had my starlet now and the bmw 330 ci that i had last year wasnt cutting it at all. i have been driving round (since nov 2nd) a corsa cdti 1.3 which is incredibly good on diesel and cheap to have/own and would love to have it and and the starlet but i just dont think i could afford it. no idea what to do but i do know i miss starlets soooo badly
  8. yeah exactly.starlets are the mans car of choice .just such great cars.
  9. update guys lol sold the bmw within 4 months. cost way to much to run and now I have a cheap diesel run about. miss the starlet hugely and absolutely regret selling it in a big way. everybody told me I would and now I know first hand how much it sucks living without a starlet.
  10. threads now here ,feel bad putting such an in depth thread on "the wrong" forum. http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=133736
  11. exactly that ^ so important to have the best gauges and keep an eye on things at all times on a starlet u NEED an afr guage( check periodically say once a month as the lambdas hate richness and die quite quick) and a DECENT boost gauge. wouldnt ever have a starlet without these as they are insurance and a safe guard.
  12. i had both a mechanical (racetech) and a digital (used a gizzmo as a gauge only not controller) as a view from both sides and turns out both were very good.
  13. NEVER buy cheap guages lol if you want a mechanical 52mm boost guage only ever buy a racetech or similar quality. £65 always returned to zero perfectly and was as acurate as a digital boost gauge !! lesson learnt
  14. ok cold start 11.00 ish once warm 14.0-16.5 light cruising/steady speed 14.0-16.5 wot should be ideally 11.0-11.5
  15. get an odyssey lead battery.they are awesome and light/smaller and more powerful than a normal battery. http://www.motorworks.co.uk/Ody/Home/index.php
  16. either valve stem seals or piston rings mate, do a leak down test or compression test..... does it use oil alot ?

I had agro with one before took me days to sort.basically they have to be fitted with battery disconnected, setting 12 then when connected up to car, then battery on,start car THEN adjust to setting you require which is 9 lowest ideally.
