De-capping injectors

Hello I was watching mighty car mods before and they de capped the ends of the injectors to increase the flow of them but they still keep the spray pattern, just curious to see if it's been tried before or if it's just a to myth?

Yeah mine are de capped 540cc's apparently flow 800+

Plugs checked etc and all seem to be consistent

It would be interesting to flow test a set of decapped standard 295cc injectors.

FTE injectors are a 25 year old design now, spray pattern is probably not the best.

Yeah but if you can still get a decent pattern and a good enough increase in flow to say, safely run 240/250bhp it would be a decent cheap mod

Pretty sure the caps are there to stop heat getting back into the injector too? Sketchy

Think the new era Densos are commonly done

Hadn't seen or heard of it for the older style

So are you talking about detonation if the heat gets back up?
