EP70-PT Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 So, started doing my speedline 372's, want them gold with polished lips. Already got rid of the minor curb marks on all the wheels with a lot of wet sanding, now I'm preparing the center bits, used some paint stripper but the bloody factory coating wouldn't come off... the clear coat is dead and soft though but won't come out, so now I have to remove it before painting... reached this state, but after one day I only did one rim, and it isn't finished yet!! is there anything I can attach to my drill that can help me sand and that is soft enough to get in tight spots?? glanzadude Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 The only way you are going to strip them right is to sand blast them Quote
EP70-PT Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 Might get them acid dipped then... Only one company does it near me here in France, we'll see Quote
MR-2 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Same situation on my MR2 wheels, nothingh effect with solvents, no effect with soda blasting, glass blasting was way to go, maybe sand is better to get rougher surface, too flat surface with glass. Quote
