ashep91 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Hi guys just want peoples opinions on how good the factory lsd is compared to a quaife ect is it worth the swap? Quote
5e colin Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 deffo worth it compared to the non lsd turbo box the ratios are also closer for quicker gear changes Quote
ashep91 Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 I have a gearbox was going to do a quaife Lsd swap they have opened the box and found it has a factory fitted lsd to put a quaife in I will need a turbo gearbox non factory lsd and put a quaife in that as a factory lsd box is different to a factory non lsd so now I have a factory lsd box on the car which came with the car so I didn't know it had it until now and a brand new quaife Lsd with bearings that won't fit in my box am wondering should I just put factory lsd box back on or is it worth sourcing a non lsd box and fitting the quaife Lsd in is the quaife alot better than factory lsd is it worth it Quote
Phil Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Nah i dont think so. Quaife is Helical so not the stunning performance difference as there would to to say a ATS/Kaaz/Cusco clutch type item. Phil Quote
ashep91 Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 It's for road use mainly mate sometime on track Quote
Whitenoize Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I'd just keep your factory lsd mate and sell on the quaife as you won't notice much difference between the two How did you not realise you had an oem lsd in the first place lol ? Quote
ashep91 Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 I've never driven a starlet with one in before so never knew I did think it handles very well but thought it was the norm I will be updating my build thread soon cars nearly done so will need a new project soon need to sell a few parts now including this brand new quaife Lsd with bearings Quote
