Bug679
Seen this JAM lip for sale in a sorry state and honestly first seen it and wanted to walk away lol but couldn't cost me 60 euro but am happy with the way it's turning out so far and just gonna throw up few pics of progress so far 😀When I got it was afraid it was gonna snap in 2 on way home just like the lad I bought it off 😂So on to the repair 😬A lot of fibreglass lolDidn't take enough photos of the fibreglassing as hands where destroyed even with gloves on 😕 But this is how it's looking now primed and still using a bit of stopper for the stone chips and pin holes have to say delighted with it doh 🤗

Flynn
Any tips then lads? I've got a set of Tom's ep91 skirts here in a pretty poor state and after blowing a fair amount on them I'm hoping to keep costs down by doing the repairs myself. Did you use glass fibre kits and gel coat?
Bug679
cheers mate it's worth the hours to rescue a genuine part doh 😀 did you use much fibreglass on the skirt ? how's it holding up

Bug679
I used David's fibreglass kit to strengthen it up where was needed and fibreglass filler to fill any big chips or dents (it can be messy lol ) then isopon fantastic bumper filler sand all down in between coats and I came across a stopper today to fill all pin holes and wee dimples in primer , great stuff rub it in with your finger and sand down down its gone 😊 Anything can be rescued 👍🏻

Bug679
Have you got any advice for sorting the crack along the top out? Mines the same and I'm not sure how I'll go about repairing it haha The way I went about it was clamping it together and stuffing fibreglass inside the lip and mould it inside the upper curve where the crack is to strengthen it up again and fibreglass fillers on outside sand it down when dry takes about half hour to harden depending how you mix it then ordinary fillers sand smooth , primer then stopper any wee holes primer again sand. It's honestly not that hard just fiddly getting the fibreglass inside and moulded use a good bit of resin give it some more strength. Hope that makes sense 👍🏻
