I think there is man best just seperate it and give it bit of clean anyway and you'll see if theres a locating pin just grind it off :)

Yes there is a locating pin.

No need to grind it, it should just pull out with pliars.

To get the compressor housing of there is a big circlip, so good circlip pliars and a small flat screwdriver will help.

I took mine of as if you rotate it with the locating pin still in you just break it of. And I didn't fancy a lose bit of metal floating about in any part of my turbo

Take off the exhaust housing remove the pin with pliers and then refit it.



Exactly like Adzy says unless you want a bit of metal floating about in your turbo like a complete novice.

Ah so it's exhaust side? That's good to know! I need to rotate my centre cartridge, cheers for the info fellas

Yes mate the pin is on the exhaust side. If you need to rotate the cartridge then both will need to come off.



Best having the oil feed parallel to the ground and the hot pipe facing down toward the FMIC for shortest route :thumbsup:

Just bumping this up, got my turbo back from a rebuild and I need to rotate the centre cartridge.

How do you remove the exhaust housing and what do I need to avoid doing?
