Robep82 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 My oil pressure gauge stepper motor is flashing and no pressure atall what could this be Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Most likely a sensor fault if its flickering. Whats the standard oil pressure light doing? Quote
patman Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Stepper motor is that prosport gauge I take it 👍🏻 Quote
Robep82 Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 Well ive just done a oil change and filter and its still flashing and reading 0 on the car dash theres no engine light or anything. So surely if there was a problem there would be something on the dash ? Aparrently theyre trisco gauges Quote
patman Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 On the speedo cluster with ignition on (not engine running) your see the red engine light, if that goes out when engine goes on, that's a relief there, how have you got the oil pressure line hook up, with a sandwich plate? Quote
Robep82 Posted November 16, 2016 Author Posted November 16, 2016 Hi mate yes the engine light goes out its setup with a sandwich plate but im also get smoke coming out of the catch tank Quote
EP70-PT Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 smoke out the catch tank is normal as that smoke normally goes to your intake in the OEM setup, if the light goes out then it's no engine problem, I'd check the sensor on the sandwich plate and try another one before assuming it's the gauge.Let us know what you get Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Smoke out the catch can is not normal Quote
EP70-PT Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I had smoke/vapour through my breather filter, it is on cold days Quote
patman Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Smoke out the catch can is not normalThink he means like light vapour smoke, not thick heavy smoke Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Shouldn't really be anything visible Quote
TimD Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Smoke out of the catch can has nothing to do with your oil pressure gauge not working. Remove all the wiring for the gauge and inspect it, you'll find something. A bit of oil vapor out of the catch can would be the least of your worries, if your oil pressure gauge is to be believed.
