How to do compression test

Hi guys can anyone run me through how to do a compression test I know you should do it when hot and cold also I have a kit yo do it I take out king lead and crank is that it or anything else needed doing

Do it when the engine is up to temp bud.

Cheers nick is the fuel pump fuse labelled of the fuse box if not which one is it? Some people say do compression test when cars cold some when cars warm

Which fuse done need to disconnect to disconnect the fuel pump?

Efi fuse.

Cheers h_d so this is the list of how to do it as I understand it

Warm car up

Turn car off

Take out efi fuse and run car until it cuts out and burns off excess fuel

Take out king lead

Take out lead 1 and spark plug

Put compression tester in

And crank

Is this right?

No need to run car till it cuts out. Fuel pump or injectors won't be operating. When cranking, do so with a wide open throttle

So just take out efi fuse and crank? Oys just the link above said to burning any fuel that might be left? Just don't want to blow myself up lol

Take out the EFI fuse, disconnect the king lead and crank, if there's no spark there's no bang.
