Replacing front Springs.

Hi Guys,

Help please.

I was in the process of replacing the front springs with lowering ones but cannot separate the shock absorber from the spring. there is nothing that you can hold the shaft so that you can undo the top bolt. am i missing something? is there any trick to remove it?

Slightly on the pikey side but vice grips on the shock absorber.

Wrap them with a towel so not to damage it with the teeth.

Are you using spring compressors?

Stick the shock back in the car semi tighten the strut nuts in the bay, place bottom of strut into the hub ( stops it spinning ) and then undo the large strut nut in the center so the spring will drop out onto brakes below

Above is abit pikey but to do it correctly spring compressor the springs first and then follow above

went to bnq and bought a vice grip. i will try to do it over the weekend. yes i have a pair of spring compressor.

Put the car back on the floor. Use an impact gun to whip them off. The top spring cup is slotted so should stop the shaft from spinning.
