Tomson
So, ive got this problem with the old fuel filter, just impossible to get that bottom bolt fully off! I can get it loose with those 14" and 19" spanners, but after 3-4 rounds, its totally stuck, there is already fuel draining out from the filter but i cant get it more loose.. i dont want to use more force (if its even possible to use more force) because i would end up braking the bolt thread/fuel line. Someone else having the same issue? And have somebody used blueprint filter? got one ready to go after i get that old one out.. Edited July 25, 2017 by Tomson
maddox710
Such a bitch of a job, I was standing in the engine bay when the engine was out when I done mine. Sounds sketchy but I found a plastic cap in my garage the sealed the top perfect then I got the blow torch on the bottom one and double wrenched it of
daniel_g
I used a pair of water pump pliers to hold the filter body and then a brake pipe style spanner to undo the filter bolt.
Starlet__SR
I've had the same issue with mine. Ended up cutting the pipe and making a new flexi to suit.

Tomson
Thx for the reply´s, i even tried with that brake pipe style spanner, but it was just totally stuck. I might just call the local Toyota service and let them do it for me^^ There might be the same job ahead as starlet_SR did have, cutting the pipe and making a new flexi to it. Starlet__SR
Tomson. Try getting someone to hold the top with a spanner and using some swan neck pliers on the nut.
Whitenoize
Cut it off and just put a in line filter in job done
Tomson
Lets get back to this topic, someone used that blueprint filter? readed somewhere, that the inlet is bigger than the standard one? can someone combine to this? I got filter change after 2weeks so its time to order a new filter if that blueprint is not going to fit (the part numbers were exact the same..)
Starlet__SR
Just a handy bit of info. The GT/Glanza fuel filter shares the same unit as a Daihatsu Sportrak. Seems to be cheaper too lol.
Tomson
Well the blueprint one did fitted, just saying this if someone else want to know in future.
