Doing a lower arm change and the stupid captive nut broken off now only way to sort it is cut the floor and weld it bk on and remove the bolt

MATE!

I think I've probably done something very similar,  I don't think it is broken, but NEVER undo the lower arms on my car. Luckily, it's powdercoated with new bushes and should not need any maintenance. But one day, I will probably need to do what you are asking!

I only had problems because I was fitting an anti-lift kit which made everything extremely tight, plus the lower arm brace. Just meant there was no room for movement. Having them powdercoated looks the bees knees!

i had to cut the floor to nut and bolt mine as i had one snap, then had to drill it out and the capive nut snapped out of place, right funking pain.

I was thinking this. So you just use a nut and bolt then?

ye it was a good few years ago i done it, just use a longer bolt and nylock nut with a big washer, youll need 2 people to tighten it though one in the car, then tack weld it all if possible so you done have to mess about with the floor skin again.

i only had this issue on the passenger side, i cut a big flap and pulled it back then welded it again after i was done, arms been off and on couple times since the "repair"
