Reverting back to original? Ep82 mk2 mk3 frontend?

Recently picked up a ep82 Gt turbo which I believe is a mk2 (L reg with boot lid having the non light up reflective panel). Previous owner says it has a mk3 front end conversion. I like to keep things oem and don’t particularly like the “look” of quad lights so looking to go back to original.

can anyone confirm to me that oem would indeed be the square lights and not the quads. What else will need to be changed to be back to oem? I’m thinking front bumper and grill? (I plan to keep the gi bonnet) 

what would have been done wiring wise to use this mk3 front and can it be easily returned back?

Yeah it'll be square lamps if it's a Mk2. Which L Reg indicates that.

Interior is distinct in the MK2's

 

Looks like you'll need a Mk2 Grill too. ALso also, looks like your bumper has been modified, so for that OEM goodness you need a new Mk2/3 bumper.

What within the interior is it that’ll confirm mk2?

So mk2 and mk3 bumpers are the same?

any knowledge on the wiring side of things?

all slam panels the same?

The definitive way to check is via the VIN. I believe TGTT has all the production  codes from the associated VIN.

Sweet cheers, I’m guessing the parts I need won’t be to easy to find

if anyone wants to trade mk3 for mk2 front end chuck me a pm, or if anyone has the lights/bumper/grill they want to sell let me know

you will find it hard to find a mk1-2 front end

Quad lights all day as said good luck finding the MK1/2 front end bits and when you do be sure to take a cushion for the ride home

They can be had. I sold a set of square lamps last year for like £50. I'm sure you'll find the bits you need. Getting an unchopped bumper may be hard.

Can anyone confirm If mk1 front bumper is same as a mk2 bumper? Have sourced a mk1 bumper but not sure if it’s a straight fit to the mk2?

They are not the same, they have a different shape. mk1 bumpers are actually quite rare and wanted

Defo gettin rare good find, Mk1 bumper the best choice with square lights.

it will fit with 2 bottom brackets removed and glass lights are ep80

The JDM EP82 lights are glass as well, non-GT. I imported a set from Japan. But do differ. Ended exporting them to Africa lol. Nice chap got them
