NightSpirit
The ferry is booked, as is the Chunnel and the 'Ring hotel. We're budgeting around £700 for the week including fuel. Fuel about £350 or so.
NightSpirit
And yes...I'm wearing ear plugs. Should be interesting in the trackstar, no heater.
rob_bower
its summer what do you need heating for lol
NightSpirit
You've never driven the Alps then...sun is shining, but snow on the ground, temps can drop to near freezing especially if there's wind
Galliano
3 words.WOWPicturesVideos! Now go and enjoy yourself
NightSpirit
Now...obviously we'll all have cameras for photos (we're planning to make a DVD of the trip) the two EP82s both have bullet cams (that's me and MuthaDucka) the R32 GTR should have aswell...Can anyone think of impressive places to put a bullet cam (and I don't mean up my own ass..or someone elses..ecks/Rick).They'll ban us for the day if they catch us recording which would suck, so I need some creative but top spots to hide the cam. First choice would be on the front bumper at the top of the IC hole area. In car won't be doable as I'd need the bullet cam attached to the rollcage for a decent video and with the poly carb it's like a goldfish bowl in there, would take about 3 secs to see the cam.Suggestions welcome
paul w
Sounds ace!I'd stick the cam in the bumper or scoop if it'll take the heat?
Tommy_G
wow quite a trip, should be so much fun, didnt look through the directions but remember the toll roads dont half add up! but i guess you wont be using them. when we drive down to the alps we usually spend bout 300 on fuel and 300 on tolls, thats in a 3.0 a4 advant tho, so it drinks petrol.as the others said take loads of photos and such , and get the dvd up on youtube or something!by the way do u have a cd player or anything in the trackstar?! if not it could be a bit boring...lol, actually im sure it wont beTom
Sparky
cant wait to do the ring trip myself one day ;)you havent got my choice on the bullet cam tbh, I would say in the top grille or top of the bumperHope you have a good safe journey and hope to see some cracking pics and videos
Liam_D
Sounds like its gonna be an immense trip mate. Very Jealous i wanna do it one day. Will look forward to the pics and videos. Hope you have a safe trip.
Galliano
make a fake air filter to have in the front bumper.. face first so then you can stick it in there.... crafty.
Sparky
Quick question, why cant you use video equipment on the ring?
tucka
awsum man, sounds like your going to have a right experence! well jelious!
NightSpirit
Sparky, because of video evidence I think...crashes and the like...people sueing (fuckers).Tommy, the trackstar has no dash for a CD player, it will be wank on the boring roads for sure, but when we hit the Furka Pass etc and some of the roads round Interlaken...heaven MuthaDucka is thinking of putting his cam in the scoop, I'd be afraid of heat (and I have no scoop).Anyone want to guess what time we manage on the Ring? what's the EP82 record? ;)
nathy boy
Couldn't you get one of them fin things that are on bmw's and fabricate it to go on your roof where the ariel is with the camera inside? maybe its alot of messing around and im talking silly
NightSpirit
I'm thinking the best spot for a bullet cam is either centre of front bumper or inside behind driver with view of driver/wind screen. It's a tricky one as once we're out there, if they spot the cams and we get booted there's not much chance of us getting away with it the following day etc and not videoing the trip will be gayer than something very gay. scutch0
ive seen a hollowed out headlamp with a cam in it... might be worth a try?
