hi peeps just wondering how easy it is to fit a manifold your self ?

you can do it...its just fidley...also make sure you torque all the bolts properly...if the mani, is to tightly pressed onto the head, you can crack it over time (the head) so be careful!

okkk lol is it worth keeping the gaskets that will already be on there ? never done any of this before as you can prob tell lol

buy replacement gaskets....head > mani....and mani > turbo imo...if your really that bothered you could change all the studs and nuts as you have it all off.

I've just replaced my cat with a new decat and all the studs were pretty much buggered, cant say they would be the same but to be safe i would get new studs for it

replace the gasket and bolts.. replacing a mani is easy.. just watch it may be on tight!!

changing a mani isnt that easy. i couldnt be bothered with the hassle and payed burwash's guys to do mine.

Easy when you've done it before, you need to remove and drain the rad,EFI pipe, remove turbo, then mani. Turbo will be a bastard to get to the rear left bolt. soak all studs in penetrating fluid at least overnight then you will need mucho brute force to remove the old studs if they've never been off before. A good 1.5 hrs work tbh possibly more. ;)

The more space you make the better DEFFO remove the rad, remember to buy new coolant for it too. Red 4life from toyota.

its a scary thing this as it is a pss take paying loadsa money for something which doesnt envolve much knowledge just determination really. plus knowing once you gone half way you gotta keep going even if it takes much longer than people have suggested. best thing to do is have a mate who has some experience.

Took me 2hrs first time could remove and refit in 45 mins after i'd done a couple of times.

My manifolds been on and off more than a hookers draws.Takes me about 20 minutes now.

Buy all new gaskets like said, head to mani, and mani to turbo.

Dont want to go to the hassle of fitting the new manifold and find out the old gaskets blowing.Thatll just make you want to kick the car

Soak all the nuts in wd40 for a few days before you take them off, it'll release them a bit easier.

Best thing to do, is remove the radiator, it'll give you alot more room to play with if you have fat hands like me ;)

Also use a bit of loctite on the bolts/studs because there prone to vibrating loose over time.

Also easier if you remove the EFI pipe if you still have it fitted.
