ste91
I want a piece of pipe made up for air intake... I'm planning on having the filter just behind the front bumper in my N/A.So I'm going to need a pipe going from the TB to just behind the bumper.3 inch (76mm) pipe all the way through, I'll already have the reducer things and filter, so it's just the pipe I need. I suppose an exhaust place would be able to do it for me?All it would be is a 90 degree bend and then just straight. And yes before anyone asks, the rad is going to be moved and I've already thought of everything, all I want is a rough idea of how much the bit of pipe's going to cost. Sparky
Cant see it being much more than £30 mateI got a similar pipe to go on mine once I relocate my battery!!!Also had to remove my screenwash in order to get the cold air feed from the foglight to itStill not got round to finishing it Before you ask my pipe is off a Seat Leon Cupra
Idrees
I'm guessing it could be up to £50 depending where you go for it.
Asad
i thought the size of the tb is 55mm?????
Jozinobi
The tb is indeed 55mm but ste will be using a reducer from the sounds of it.It should cost you between £30-£50 depending on where you go, go to a few local places if possible and get some quotes.Joz
ste91
Yes as Joz pointed out I will be using a reducer. The filter I'm getting comes with a 76-76 joiner to connect the filter to the pipe, and a load of different size 76-XX reducers, one of them is a 76-55 I haven't seen anyone with the setup I'm planning, although it's not exactly amazing, and I'm 99% sure it's been done already. Bluebear
I loved the old-school ASCII diagram you had earlier, Joz

montanajr
You can get shit like this on eBay: Here. But thats only a 5incher so be of a mish. Why don't you just make a good cold air feed? I don't get why you'd want the filter in the bumper lol
200sx-Starlet-Jay
last time i checked for my VR6 there were shit loads of pipes, havnt checked for about a year tho so maynot be on there anymore
rob_bower
Something a little like this? just propper alloy or steel hard pipe!!
StarletRick
it would be better served to have a shorter intake pipe and have a cold air feed. having an overly long sealed intake system can choke the engine at higher revs.
Rich
I had a PVC drain pipe aswell at one point, glad I'm not the only person This is what mine sort of looks like at the moment, has a bigger air filter on now.Was like £110 but I ordered way too much pipe just to make sure if I messed up

StarletRick
riches setup is what you want. shorter fintake setup, behind the battery with a cold air feed. his is a proven setup aswell, it makes good power on the dyno.
rob_bower
mine seems to have been running loads better especially on longer runs but ill have a rethink and see what else i can come up with and try another option if this it true. i really ought to get mine dynoed and see whats going on!! Rich
Longer intake pipes help it low down, probably see a good amount of torque being produced, but as Rick said, will be a restiction higher up the rev range. Also check out this website, http://www.venairsport.co.uk/
ste91
Yeah I know about the bits of pipe and that off ebay, but when you add up the cost of all the bits of pipe it comes to a fair bit, so I thought it might be cheaper to just have a one-piece pipe.Like Rob's is what I had in mind, but not with drainpipe Rich's setup looks easier though, just the reducer, a little bit of straight, and a 45 degree bend, and no need to move the rad.Rich, what filter is that on there? Rich
Its an Apiro one, bit small for me so had it on for about 2-3 months then changed for a bigger one. To use the setup I have you need an Airfilter with a filter at the end aswell.
ste91
It wasn't this one was it?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Apiro-TORQUE-Twin-Co...oQQcmdZViewItemI've had my eye on getting one of them seeing as they're fairly cheap but still half decent from what I've read, and they come with the reducer+joiner. Rich
Yeah these are on par with K&N they filter out anything bigger than air
