Mikey Jay Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Aloha guysA friend of mine is planning to change his car in the very near future, but is having trouble thinking of what to get. He's been driving a 1.5 Civic Saloon for the past year, but now fancies something a bit nicer/quickerThe criteria for the new car is-Not too hefty on insurance as will be 20 with 1 years ncb-Coupe or Saloon shape car-Less than 10 seconds 0-60-Reliable, so most probably JapaneseHas a budget of about £3000I've currently suggested a non turbo MR2, and he's though of maybe an IS200Any other suggestions guys? All input welcome Quote
kevink Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 well there is a big difference between an is200 and a mr2 does he need any space? 2 seater? Quote
Mikey Jay Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Space isn't really an issue noOnly really needs to fit the criteria mentioned in the first post And yeah, MR2 and IS200 are completely different, but they both look nice and are quicker better equiped than what he has now, and reliable (as far as we know anyways) Quote
SpeedFreak Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I thought an IS200 was quite expensive on insurance? I may be wrong though. It hard to think of something under that criteria thats not too expensive on insurance. 200sx? Quote
Mikey Jay Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 That's a possibilityJust put up (sensible) suggestions and I'll throw them all at him later Quote
SpeedFreak Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Ok, I shall have a look on Pistonheads in a little while and let you know of anything. Quote
SiCaln Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Mikey is this another way to say you are looking for yet another new car Quote
Mikey Jay Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 No lol Tis for my friend Josh (don't know if you've met him before, has a green Civic Saloon). He's supposed to be coming to Medstone though Also though an AE111 Levin/Trueno would fit the criteria, but not suggesting it, as it'll make me remember mine if he got one Quote
ste91 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 If he didn't want a coupe/saloon then a GT would fit the criteria... Quote
SpeedFreak Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 LOL....If he didnt then alot more cars would fit that criteria! Quote
Mikey Jay Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 I suggested a GT, but he said no as doesn't like hatchbacks particularlyWill re-suggest it thoughShall get someone at the meet on Friday to take him for a spin in a GT, see what he thinks Quote
Sparky Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 IS200's are pretty good on insurance, Muddyell has one and he is/was 19 Quote
SpeedFreak Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Good suggestions ^^ Didnt think of either of those. Quote
