well as i had no sounds in the car due to standard speakers all going pop lol i treated myself today to a set of rockford punch 6x9s in the rear shelf and replaced the front 4" speakers with matching rockford punch speakers also

My speakers have just gone pop aswell are the standard 4'' speakers in the dash hard to replace

no mate real easy.

there are 2 10mm bolts at the bottom of the trim panel, then on the passenger side 3 screws at the top of the glove box, on the driveds side there are 2 screws at the top

Cheers mate i was going to just leave them and put up with it but i cant be doing with just one speaker.

Also the De-cat you have did you notice a big difference in performance/petrol/sound.

if honest i dont know what size grommet it is i just went to my local motor factors and brought one that fitted as theyhae them loose in a tub

are you running the speakers through an external amp, or the headunit?

running them all thought my Alpine headunit at the moment, may amp the 6x9s one day if i decide on a sub too.

because i have alpine 6x9's and just wondering if they would sound good?

by the way its 35w RMS and 210w peak power

yeah they sound great without an amp, cant imagine how good they would be running off an amp

Alpines are really good quality headunits and have a good amp built in hence why they sound so good without an external amp

been doing a bit more wiring today went to a local ice specialist and got some bass blockers, i also had a spare toyota to ISO adaptor harness so did a little harness alteration

speakers sound great now

your looking at a stereo adaptor harness with the front speakers re wired with bass blockers to stop distortion at higher volumes

well only took 3 months but my new filter finally showed up, shame come the new year it may become obsolete
