is it possible to run a hybrid ct9 on a standard ecu? if so how long should it be ok before i get it mapped. what exhuast and manifold should i use? will the oil lines be ok? anything else i would need to change ? thanks

If running standard boost it should be ok but you really need to get the fuelling checked to make sure, at standard boost levels the stock ecu over fuels a little anyway but if going much higher then you'd most likely need the fuelling tweaked. Otherwise it'll be fine leaving everything else standard at the stock boost levels, the oil lines should also fit depending on the hybrid.

Again when raising the boost you really want to change the standard manifold to get rid of the restriction it causes and uprate the intercooler.

Have a look around the site to see what set ups other people are running and search also as lots of it has been covered before.

yeh i was looking at manifolds and decats will i just buy a manifold to fit a ct9? fmic is on its way. ok cheers for you help mate any more would be appricated

i'm running a hybrid on stock ecu... but i wouldn't do it unless you have a RRFPR at minimum, i also have an uprated fuel pump so its a bit safer.

at 0.8bar your pushing the afr's of the stock ecu as the intake of air that the hybrid produces against the stock ct9 is alot more.

to be honest i wouldn't recommend it unless you were upgrading to a jam, blitz unit or emanage blue within a month or so of having it on.

also if you were thinking of doing it on a completely stock engine i would strongly advice you dont.

i would just be running it on low boost till i could get it mapped would be anylonger than a month. your engine is stock isnt it mate?

or do you mean its ok to run on a stock engine as long as its tuned?

i mean stock engine as in, standard mani, cat, standard filter etc.... running on those would be a bad idea.

i have everything uprated including fueling so running the hybrid on the stock ecu is not so much of an issue.

you dont need a forged engine to run a hybrid just a good map nd you perfect ;)

not sure what you mean there mate? what ecu do we run when we use dastek's?... we would just use the standard ecu and run the dastek as a piggyback, i will be running a emanage blue soon for my hybrid. but that or the dastek will be a good piggyback ecu for the hybrid.

you can also get standalone ecu's by Jam, Blitz, Apexi. they come premapped with a more aggressive map and usually are set up to manage 1bar on a ct9 or hybrid... quite a few people run these are there a straight sawp for the stock ecu and are reasonable cheapish compared to buying, fitting and mapping a ecu.

i see i didnt realise the dastek was a piggyback thought it was a chip placed in the standard ecu. dont really like the sound of the pre mapped ecu's like jam and blitz. everycar is different and to get the best out of it you need your own map. youll always make more power, better power curve and more torque with your own map so thats the way i will be going.

sounds good mate, that's what i would have advised.

yeah the dastek and emanage series are piggyback ecu's... so anything over idle they will be mapped to control.

depending on were your based Nick Jones at Tuning Developments can map one mint Emanage blue or Emanage ultimate.

Also Ricky at Race-Tech can map all kinds of ecu's both are on here as traders so check them out ;)

if you want anymore advice about the hybrid route just slap up a post there are a few that have been down the hybrid route on here so we can help.

im buying a hybrid 2moz, but i have a standard ecu, full exhaust system, decat, will have a relocation kit. when you say standard boost do you mean anything under fuel cut? cuz i am running .8 boost on a standard ct9, if i keep the actuator at the same setting will it over boost??

mate it's answered above just read...

to run it safely you will need an uprated fuel pump and rrfpr to compansate for the extra intake of air to the system, and will need to just throw it onto the rollers just to check the fueling is definatly ok.
