shanksportif
Does anyone know how easy it is to fit central locking into an ep91 sportif? I'm thinking about getting an alarm but would probably want one that works with central locking. Any thoughts welcome! Cheers - James
scutch0
if you dont have any electrics in the doors its a nightmare, as you have to take the doors off and drill holes in them, if you do have electrics in the door, then its not so hard.
shanksportif
Hmm - I have no electrics in my doors; wish I did! Would you say it would be too much effort to fit central locking to my car then? What work would be involved? Cheers

Starlet Nath
Well if you went to a scrappersYou would need to make it dead easy:Drivers and Passenger door looms(with clips!!), central locking servo, operating arm & last but not least the fuse and carrier for the central locking which is tuck up in the dash near the steering wheel!!!. Don't forget to make a mental note of what the connector looks like for the fuse carrier and write down the colour of the wires!!It will basically be plug and play!!strip your doors, install the door looms from inside the car out to the door.Plug the door looms into the correct connector on the dash loom(Which by the way is a standard loom on the EP91)fit the servos and operating arms then plug them in.Finally find the connector in the dash (tucked up behind the steering wheel) for the fuse carrier, plug it in and screw onto the dash support bar.I think thats about it!!!Then give it a try.I'm not an expert, all this information is from my own experiences and what I've seen from my own EP91. So I hope this helps.Nath ;)
scutch0
i personally wouldnt bother... but not having central locking doesnt bother me so the choice is yours!
Blue Icarian Wings
I have remote central locking, the first time I got caught out in bad rain made it all worth it, no playing with keys in the rain, by the time I got to the door it was unlocked, straight in, no messing ;)
shanksportif
Yer remote central locking is what I'm aiming for - all that lot sounds a bit tech for me though; wouldn't really know where to start. I'll probly try to get my mechanic friend to help me with it.
starletno1fan
you just basically have to drill a few holes for the motor to go where it pushes the pin up n down! all the rest is easy
shanksportif
I've seen this toad alarm that I could get - and the bloke reckons that for 40 quid extra he'll fit central locking for me. Reckon that's worth it?
