Engine Making Noise

making a stange noise just sounds wierd you no when you shake cat food well do it really really slow i mean bearly movin sounds like that when its on tickover just under a 1000 rpm when you rev cant hear it atall just when it ticks over just under 1000 anyone got this? oil and water in her checked

mines making a weird noise too. I have just booked it into the garage and he said its the alternator pulley. Does this come of or will i have to replace the alternator?

Pulley comes off, but itl more likely be bearings than the pulley,

If it's the bearings itl need a alternator

Sounds like alternator bearings same in my GT doesnt sound nice does it

any way giving it a service today oil and filter done the plugs about 500mile ago and leads and ill probs change the water aswell with antifreeze lol its hard to discribe i thort my motor was fuked was really stressed about it lol

If its the bearings they can be replaced for about £40 as long as they dont crack the casing when splitting it other wise you do need a new one!!

problem resolved i dont engine oil change and changed the filter and put a magnetic sump plug on and its stopped had her tickin over for 20mins or more cheers guys for you help

i hope you dont think im been funny matey but you might find it will make the same noise in the morning when the cold gets to it again i cant see giveing it an oil change makeing any diffrence realy

well its funny how it doesnt make a noise anymore and it done the noise when it was warm ticking over under a 1000revs for all i no it coulda just been somthing just vibrating or somthing no no affence taken say what you like i hate it when people just agree

as micky said just because it stopped doesnt mean its fixed lol soo many things to that on cars. most annoyingly when you take it to a garage and then get told theres nothing wrong lol
