Ticking Sound

got a ticking sound coming from near my inlet mani. only does it when idling.

Anyone know what this is?

its will prob be your fuel injectors

i have it too mate.. i think its just normal

if I change the injectors will it stop? probs nothin to be worried about just really annoying

It's completely normal, all injectors will "tick".

This is really loud though. It just seems strange. i've heard other cars tick before but mine is alot louder

Yeah I thought that mate when I bought mine and it annoys me everyday but I have been told it's normal, plus it stops once the car is warm

As everyone has said its normal injectors work off a solenoid opening and closeing that will be the ticking

Thanks guys makes me feel so much better. All my mates were tellin me my engine is fooked so got a bit worried. Hopefully the warmer weather will make it go away. Only noticed it over winter.

idle control valve mate mine used to tick like crazy

The idle control valve is on the far left hand side of the inlet manifold. Mine clicks like mad in the winter, always has done. In the summer its fine. Just for you're piece of mind you can start it up and unplug the electrical connector on it and it will stop the clicking so you know its that. Just dont forget to plug it back in.

no probs mate, it will defo be that. When we have the medstone meets in the cold its one big ticking orchestra!
