Idrees
..on the stock CT9 turbo with a total stock setup apart from Blitz intake, ported manifold and an aftermarket BOV. It's running stock boost and I must say it's pretty bloody quick! I've only had TD04 Starlets before so never really experienced a stock Glanza properly, but I must say I am very impressed. I thought it would feel slow after driving higher powered Starlets for so long but I was wrong. Oh, it had no exhaust on it so maybe that's why it feels quicker? Just thought it was worth a post, exhaust and another oil/filter change tomorrow then MOT time. ;)
Kennedy
Bumper arrive then?
addz
They aren't too bad are they with a CT9, but then again I can't imagine how fast they are with TD04s.I would guess it having no exhaust would slow it down, could be wrong though. Perhaps it sounded like a rocket which moved very little but sounded fast lol
Idrees
Bumper arrive then?Who said I drove it with a bumper on? Joking, yes it did cheers mate. They aren't too bad are they with a CT9, but then again I can't imagine how fast they are with TD04s.I would guess it having no exhaust would slow it down, could be wrong though. Perhaps it sounded like a rocket which moved very little but sounded fast lolI was thinking the same, but I don't actually think it was the case. Hmm, I'll have to post my thoughts on this thread once I have the exhaust fitted!
DavidAshton
CT9 ftw! Cant beat it for its super quick spool and initial kick. Ive been in td04 starlets and prefer mine with a ct9 everytime for my style of driving.
Idrees
Yours must be a rapid little thing with 202hp on the stock turbo!
DavidAshton
Sure is, ive had a hybrid and ok it had more top end power but it doesnt give that low down kick a ct9 does. There is no way ill be upgrading again, just going to keep abusing ct9s.
Sparky
Yea its just a totally different experience Hope I am not disappointed going TD04 now ;) lol
Idrees
TD04 is win to be fair. For my driving style of course. I still cannot get over how impressive a TD04 is up to 140ish on stock internals at just 1 bar of boost, obviously on a private road!
addz
All depends on your driving styles etc.I only spank the shit out of my car when there's a little convoy to the private road, other than that I just like cruising. The odd ''show up the flash boy'' every now and then leaves me content:)
Idrees
CT9 is cool then. If you want to smoke the shit of cars such as Golf R32s, Scoobys etc then TD04 is the way. I'm not saying it's not possible on a CT9 so no comments saying 'you talk crap, I smoked a Skyline in my stock Glanza' please.
Sparky
Yea the responsiveness of the ct9 was imppressive.I am just hoping the TD04 gives it that extra ooomph higher up the revs and makes it worth the lag ;) lol.
Jozinobi
Let us know how it goes when you get the exhaust on Id ;)Gotta love all this feedback on STOCK/ct9 setups Joz

TD04 kicks ass, and with your driving it will do some crazy damage to bigger cars on track etc.Let us know how it goes when you get the exhaust on Id Gotta love all this feedback on STOCK/ct9 setups ;) JozWe all go on about tuning them so much that we actually forget what they are capable of with stock setups! Well, I do anyway! Exhaust is booked in for midday, I'll let you know how it is after!

lukEp
i've never had been in a td04 starlet yet but pauls seemed to pull very well on the way to the meet but I'm glad people are biggin the ct9 up I'm happy with it and for the cash ive spent on the car on stockish boost (10psi) at the mo it's god dam quick I've not had a problem with any car round near me yet but really I need to turn it up to 15psi, as Dave Ashton said it's a compleatly different car. Plus having a play with my ebc the turbo seem to spool quicker and lower down the rpm range the higher you set the boost. off topic sorry idrees. Does anyone know if I can put an aftermarket LSD in my 6speed box and will it change my final drive ratio.

Glanza_cl
Personaly never been a fan of td04 starlets... I'm sure there quick but just wernt for me. I took the engine right to the edge of what was possible on the stock ecu and tbh was very impressed. Managing 170bhp on the stock ecu was madness. Boy did it shift lol. Ct9's ftw, well including the amazing hybrids enzo creates!
Idrees
Cl did you ever drive a TD04 Starlet?
