Cam Gear Help!

How the fuck do you get the cam gear bolt out??? mine is starting to round off so could do with abit of help.

if worse comes to worst mate grind it off i have a spare bolt and pulley if need be

Are you on about the bolt that secures the pulley? A good fitting socket and impact wrench is your best bet.

Are you sure you are undoing it the right way because the thread could be the opposite way?

to get the cam pulley bot out just take off the rocker cover off and lock the camshaft on the nut like part with a 24mm spanner i think or an adjustable wrench to hold it from turning and crack the nut

*edit* thread is normal, same as the rest of the thread direction on the car

RH thread then, didnt think it would be different, sometimes a quick shock will get the nut loose.

in my experience they are usually very tight if never been off, might be lucky thou

I'd imagine there would be a small bit of thread lock too. Rather them be too tight than easy to get off lol

were do i lock the cam gear? you got a picture??

I think i may have to weld a socket to it, the bolt is rounding off

if u look along the cam ther is a bit on it...looks like u can put a spanner on it

as gary was saying its about 24mm...think if i remember its about 1/3 of the way along the exhaust cam
