BAZ2CRAZY
Right am i being a mardy little fagget or am i being reasonably sensible? The GT's suspension has being pissing me off for a long time now, 3-4 months. Long story short this suspension is a bastard to get set up correctly. So ive spent a small fortune on tracking and its still not right. When your driving it everyday it gets right on your tits because the car handles like a fucking trolly with a wheel missing. So i thought sod this... il get different suspension.. saw second hand buddy clubs for sale.. Bingo. Was i wrong or what. 400quid lighter and i get delivered used and abused suspension and one of the rears appears to be fucked-or at least not right. So theres 400 quid i dont have down the drain. problem still not solved. driving it everyday and its pissing me off.Ive got rays nuts on the GT... i lost the locking wheel nut in a rush to go get the tracking done. decent. so ive got to ruin those in order to get my wheels off.Ive just bought a harness because my seat belts appeared to have failed.. it doesnt fucking fit. Oh and ive recently removed my front bumper, upon removal i didnt realise that i was scratching both wings with the bumper itself. decent. On the way to work my window wiper arm snaps. decent.So. my thoughts were.. sell the fucking thing and move on. Spend my money on somthing else. rwd?So back to my first question, am i being reasonable? or just a mardy bitch because everything is going tits up and i cant afford to rectify anything.I want to finish what i set out to do, but i just know il do it, spend all that money... and think was it worth it? i could have spent all that money on somthing else.I genuinly do not know what to do. And this thing is pissing me off everyday because of the stupid suspension. I dont want to waste any more money on tracking. Mitch

BAZ2CRAZY
The car isnt the bitch. Everything thats gone wrong has been down to me.Its either going to go well... or bad. What i mean is, i could spend all that money and be pleasently suprised by it...Or i could spend all that money and it be total shit and then the bottom end goes or somthing.I can even corner in this. Its like trying to tame a bull on steroids in a corner. shit. The only way out of that would be to buy new suspension... 600quid meisters. alot of moneysHelp. Need more advice..Mitch

Jozinobi
You should have got the Meisters in the first place Mitch dude Does the engine performance side of the car perform well besides the suspension problems? Is there enough potential to satisfy your needs to carry on?All the other little bits are a bit of a prick but sortable.Joz
Craig_T
I've done a total of 160 miles in my car, my engine has to come out for the third time and i also had to buy a new turbo, as well as the engine rebuild.I think your problems are minor compared to that, keep it and sort it

Its running sweet.touch wood..Its just a massive ball ache because i use it daily and it handles crap. My suspension is rock hard atm because of rubbing issues, i cant higher it becuase one of the rears is seized and oh yeh.... i lost the locking nut for my wheels aaaahhhhh!Mitch

Liam_D
Car is fucking awesome minus the Suspension mate. Kinda feel bad for charging you for the alignment now Starlets are complete and utter cunts most of the time mate, but there worth it when there set-up properly and running spot-on. Asad
cant be the stuff your bolting on to it if its not gone away after spending/adjusting soo much.....its something more than that surely? get it side by side with another GT if possible and go over it with a fine tooth comb part by part

Kinda feel bad for charging you for the alignment now Starlets are complete and utter cunts most of the time mate, but there worth it when there set-up properly and running spot-on.Dont feel bad mate. Spoke to mike yesterday about the alignment and he reckons you should adjust camber at the hubs and not the top mounts.. To initialy get them symetrical. Which is what i was trying to do prior to coming yours.Im still unsure what to do, i change my mind hourly and i swear im going insane.I want to finish what i started but i want rwd for sure. And im able to do so.Il see how this sunday goes at the notts meet. See if people can sway me.Mitch

BAZ2CRAZY
in one hand i feel like im cheating myself and taking the easy route. On the other im being spending my money wiser and doing somthing i want to do (rwd).Mitch
string
if ya wanna go rwd then your right in breaking company with the starlet. but.... 200 brake in a fairly stripped starlet would be power to weight roughly 250 right? s13 weighs bout 1300? your gonna have to be pushing over 300 to be with the starlet. standard s13s are 170 in the 1.8 form. thats nearly double the bhp gains needed compared to a starlet. BAZ2CRAZY
That would be more than enough for rwd.I want rwd. Thats the biggest factor over power and weight. Dont want the CA engine. Need reliability.Mitch
Liam_D
Hmm suppose we could try that matey but not sure if it would actually make any difference. Because if one of the hubs was majorly out of alignment our machine would be showing it on one side, and it isnt. If your heart is saying go RWD drive then go for it. I want RWD eventually but im in no position to do so. You are so if thats where your heart is i would go for it.
