This is the rather unexciting build thread of my second EP91, but I like to share and promote.

First of all this was my first Starlet when it was at its best, I had this about 6 years ago now.

Then I progressed onto the Turbo side of things, which was probably the most fun I've had in terms on tuning and overall enjoyment.

Result on standard turbo and standard internals, only bolt on parts.

That's enough of that, could post all day really, got well over 2000 photo's of it.

Here's my current project that I moved onto after the EP82

So here's the latest Starlet to add to my list, a totally standard Solida spec, bought this for £700 a few months back and has been a very good car, just needed a few little things such a new tires and a new battery more recently.

I don't have massive plans for it but I will make it look tidy and presentable so it doesn't look as much of a granny shopping car.

When I first bought it.

So now that the rear end is mashed up I went on a mission to Sunderland to meet Chrissy Cee who was breaking a Red Glanza fortunately, so I've got Glanza rear bumper, boot lid with spoiler and side skirts to fit in a few weeks, should look pretty stupid being jacked up and with 3 spoke alloys :).

Here's what I was doing today seeing as the sun was being nice and staying out.

That's it for now, hope that wasn't too picture heavy, the next post will be a bit more digestible, promise.

  • 3 weeks later...

Got round to fixing my rear end, on the Starlet that is. Looks rather stupid now but hey, it's a WIP now. Wasn't supposed to be making it look like a Glanza wannabe but I'll keep it going.

Got some Glanza side skirts to fit too, should look a bit better then, will definitely need to get it lowered now, lol, and maybe sort out the wheels, 3 spokes ftw.

Should of left spoiler and just changed the bumper :D

Love it in red though :) And those tyres :D How skinny

Haha yeh probably, think they are 165/80 or something and they're kinda stretched on the rim too, look daft but awesome in the snow.

Cheers all, it's getting there yeh. Might be a while before I anything else happens, was supposed to be a run around not modified but I can't help myself, haha.

Nice one Phil, the 13's are awesome, so light, didn't realise later spec calipers were larger?

98 onwards had different calipers yeah, but I've never seen them side by side to directly compare the differences. put it this way, i fitted a 13" Y-front alloy to my car...turned the wheel and it took paint off the carrier, so she be too big for the 13s lol!

get them skirts on man!

Phil.

Some more updates now, cleaned up the number plate surround as it had sticky stuff all over it from the previous number plate, and while I was at it I changed the side repeaters and front indicators to clear ones. Also managed to remove the side strips which was quite a mission but made a lot easier with the use of a caramel wheel, looks a lot cleaner now anyhow.

This is essential for removing the side strips, makes like a hell of a lot easier.
