Chopster
I went and took the front of my starlet off 2 days ago when some lady decided to stop suddenly on a 60mph open road and let someone out of a junction with no signal or warning. In the process of trying to avoid her, I went on a little offroad route up a curb and then back onto the road when I decided the on coming telephone pole wasn't the best option. I've managed to repair everything and now looking at replacing/repairing the alloy. I've attached a pic and was hoping someone with a little more experience might be able to give some hindsight on how severe the damage is:Also I'm looking for the spec on the nut setup. I'm driving the starlet SOL 1998 model, is there a website that'll give me the details I need? Or could someone give me a heads up here? Thanks guys, appreciate it
Liam_D
Looks Fucked to be mate, get a picture of the whole wheel though.
Bluebear
You probably won't be able to salvage that mate, but it depends on the whole wheel as Liam said.I laughed at the way you wrote the description of what happened though, you have a way with words!
ajep91
i repair hundreds off wheels, that is a no no to much lip gone even if u fill it with something it will fall out im affraid..
Chopster
Well I have the alloy at a local alloy repair specialist so I'm waiting for their verdict, but I think this just confirms my initial thoughts. I'll try and stick a picture of the whole wheel when I get a chance. In hindsight I wish Id just not bothered with the curb and taken more than her plastic bumper with me... Lowered suspension ctually helped reduce the damage, I didn't touch any of her paint work and kept my bumper in one piece. Bonnet and headlights wernt so lucky tho...Anyway, don't suppose anyone who reads has a set of 4 spare and cheap alloys lying around ?
Keri-WMS
There are wheel repairers and there are wheel repairers - it can be done if you use the right people (but it's not cheap, proper welded and machined repair).http://www.alloywheelrepairs.net/
Dean @RW-Developments
that could be alloy welded! only problem is if its buckled the wheel
