keirz Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 sorry i know that there is the insurance thread but i have looked through and still have a question. When ringing up to insure a glanza do the majority of insurance companies recognise them. which companys have them on there system because i dont want to be met with alot of confused phone operators not being able to quote me because they dont know of the car.so a list of companies that can give a straight forward quote on a glanza would be very useful (and the phone number, if you have it to hand)feel free to merge this to the insurance thread. i only put it here to get it seen. thanks keiran. Mikey Monkfish Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I wouldn't imagine you would have too much trouble. I didn't with the GT...Your best bet would be to try the specialist insurers first. Tesco wouldn't touch me (Under 25, import blah blah) so I tried (As recommended too me) A-Plan Insurance. I'm insured with them on the GT. Fully comp in my name, £650 bonus protected all mods declared and covered like for like (I'm 24, 3 points SP30, 1 non-fault claim and 4yrs NCD) Quote
NeilH Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Admiral for a GTQuinn-Direct for a Glanza.always remember that. Quote

All the starlet has on is alloys and an air filter and I still got refused insurance with some of the bigger companies!!! Quote
Mikey Monkfish Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 None of the Turbo Starlets are UK, they're all imports. Quote
rob_bower Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 well when i enquired about a ep82 they asked if it was a uk or import!! so i presumed they must have been releast even if in the smallest minority!!!my bad if im wrong!! Quote
paul w Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Nah mate,EP80 is the uk non turbo EP82 is import GT turbo.I do believe. Quote
rob_bower Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 my apologies then i shall royally disembowl myself Quote
Mikey Monkfish Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 The insurance people you spoke to must have been on about the 1.3 NA. Toyota never released the Turbo's over here, which is why almost all of them are de-cat'd (No MOT emissions problems see ) Quote
lobotomy Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Not many companies at all will recognise the Glanza unfortunately!APlanBell DirectQuinnAdrian FluxMasterQuoteThey're all I know of.P.S Search the insurance section -- because I posted a huge list of a lot of the companies I phoned for insurance for my Glanza and the reasons they wouldn't insure me. Mikey Monkfish Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 A-Plan would be my bet, they beat any other quote I had hands down. The closest was £659 Standard with Elephant.co.uk, but they didn't want to know with the engine mods. Quote
lobotomy Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 You just have to remember mate -- Kierz is asking for Glanza insurance... Elephant don't recognise a Glanza Although when I got quoted on a GT valued at £6000 with wheels/suspension declared I was quoted ~£600FC with elephant.A-Plan require you to have 1 or 2 years NCB's though I'm sure. Apart from that they're good for grey imports. My bro got his S13 with mods insured for a ridiculously low price with them! Quote
scutch0 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 lifesure reconise it also. im @ £800 full comp all mods declaired. Quote
