muddyell Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 What model corolla in the intake manifold off??I am gonna go searchin scrappys i think Quote
SiCaln Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 yea it isbut the number of times weve had that bloody question, y r so many people afraid of the serach button?!?!?! Quote
Mikey Monkfish Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Would said Manifold fit the EP82 Turbo? I'm guessing the SR has the 4EFE engine as apposed to the 4EFTE, or would the 4EFTE already have a better Mani than the SR? Quote
Idrees Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Mikey Monkey I've heard it won't make a difference to the 4EFTE's performance if not make it slower as the intake holey thingy is supposably smaller, its what ive read!! Quote
scutch0 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 im not convinced by that whatsoever.... ive compaired a standard 4efe intake mani against a fte one and i couldnt see any noticeable difference, (internal resoviour seems the same volume, and the intake plateseems to be big enough to take a fte throttle body) apart from the runners being shorter on the fte. i think it would make a nice difference, and i intend to find out when i have a fmic!your only problem is the idle sensor, as it bolts into the fte mani, whereas the 4efe has it in the throttle body. Idrees Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Sorry mate its what i've read. It'd be nice if you got one and it showed a difference Quote
Guest daveburwash Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 This is what you want for the 4efte Quote
Guest Enzo Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 that would be pointless on a ct9 equiped 4efte to be honest, u would only get the gains on that if you were after big power dave(shamless plug yes)@ richits all to do with, runner sizes and plenium sizes too, a standard 4efe manifold wil hold back a turbo as the runners(small and thin) and the plenium are a missmatch to the air that can be pushed in by the turbo, wheres the runners on the fte or alot fatter, dale found this out when he swaped the runners on his 4efe starlet.spi from a jamaican starlet site has tinkered with the jdm mani and extended the plenium to match a turbo aplication, hehad a standard jdm mani on a td05 powered fte and it drasticaly capped power, mayube due to the size of the turbo,i will have one of these modified manifolds soon so will gauge by rr if there is any improvemnts to be made Quote
Guest daveburwash Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Who doesn't want big power??????? Quote
SiCaln Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 nice bit of kit that dave but think geos right mayb a good option for later though Quote
StarletRick Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 the sera 5efte intakes are a good mild upgrade for 4efe. the runners are wider and the throttle body it slightly larger. Quote
muddyell Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 sorry si if this has already been asked but how much difference does it make to 4efe power? or how much quicker it goes etc Quote
Mikey Jay Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Believe it improves torque and throttle response.More oomph basically Quote
muddyell Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Believe it improves torque and throttle response.More oomph basically So basically nothin top end but improves acceleration? Quote
Mikey Jay Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 As far as I know, planning on getting one myself soon Anyways, who needs top end unless you're on a track, can't use the top end speed legally on the road.(Am only interested in the 0-60 side of things) Quote
muddyell Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 yea me tooI am glad acceleration will be improvedI can embarrass those VTRS even more now I love chavs in cars that think i have no chance in mine and then nearly start cryin when i leave them behind Quote
Mikey Jay Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 People get caught out as the Starlet is faster than it looks Quote
