What exhaust setup have you got on your ep91 n/a

Recommended Posts

Since returning from japfest the baffles decided to go in my zhorst box which i really like, i dont know what make it was but it was from a gt, i currently have a cobra sport back box lying around and is massive (4" tip?) which can replace it and be welded on for the time being,

however i am looking to get a full system cat back, i would like to know which system people have fitted and what sort of price have they paid and what difference you have noticed,

I currently have glanza inlet mani with TB and will soon be followed by corralla exhaust mani with 2 runners from it to the system once Chris (nastyrash) has the kit to do it.

I will be looking to get a 2" mid section as that's what most people are going for on the n/a's but i dont know which back box to get? i also dont know if i should get the back box angled? possibly a few pic's from other members will help

I've got a custom mid section from chanelle's old glanza rep with a decat on my n/a. needless to say its bloody loud! Got a HKS backbox and it sits perfect in my opinion. Cant say I've noticed any difference in power but its a little quicker than dai's na starlet on here :( lol

is the main power difference in the decat i take it?

i currently only have the back box fitted to standard pipe, don't want to decat it due to m.o.t as its a 3 months away.

is it easy to swith back and forth with the d-cat? bolt off and on?

dont know weather i should go to exhaust UK which is near me, herd some exhausts were boj'd up? but of my 2 mates who had a bmw compact and ibiza done were sound?

No probs. It was a custom one made by a local exhaust shop, 3.5" tip jap can. It had a permanently silenced tip on the end but I had them weld on a straight tip instead :(

I got my complete system installed a couple weeks ago, it consist of:

5E OBX manifold

2" custom mid section with cat back and silencer (would of had decat but MOT is soon)

and at the back a 2.5" tailpipe (too loud imo)

Since putting it on there has been a shit load more low down torque. mid range and top end power doesnt seem to feel much of a gain.

this is more than likley due to running a standard 4e TB on the FTE inlet mani.

i have to get the FTE TPS to be able to instal the TB.

By the sound of the above a Decat does make a fair difference, but like you i have a MOT coming up so it wasnt really a option at the moment

  • 2 weeks later...

just been down to exhaust uk and been quoted £285 for cat back system :)

mid pipe will be min 2.25" and any jap back box, however they are all cobra sport brand, and will prob go for 3.5" tip and have it angle

just wanted to know is 2.25 ok or shall i have it 2.5"? or down size to 2"?

Yea mine was down on power after decating much more drivable after putting the cat back in! Prob due to the change in the delivery of torque! But with the lack of experiment on the n/a it's all about trial and error!

As for the original question mine is running a one of 4-2-1 mani with a custom stainless cat back which is 2" if I remember correcty with just a back box! :)

i am currently on a 4-2-1 exhaust mani and decided to change the system fro cat back

i have decided to get a 200 cell sports cat, then straight through from cat to back box with 2.5" pipe and possibly 3.5 or 4" tip angled with a bung to sush it up on motorway journeys and all heat wrapped, i will pm you price bud
