DavidAshton
As per title,My new car is running a mapped EMB at 0.9 bar and I am a full emb newb, dont have a clue on the in's and out's of it.Its currently running off a manual boost controller and spools pretty slow / late. Can I plumb in my ebc and bring the boost on quicker upto the same boost level of 0.9 bar without a remap or is the map specific as to when the boost comes on?
WallaceGlanza
You would ideally remap it again to suit the new boost charateristics, otherwise if the boost is coming in much earlier you may end up lean at that point. The map may be fine though, I would check it on a rolling road first before going for a remap.
shorty
as above, check the afr on an rr with the new ebc on and go from there, if it leans out put the mbc on till you can get it remapped
Sparky
Nope, pretty much what I done and ended up smashing two ringlands to bits.I was getting boost at 4.5k and full at 5k on a CT9!!!!!!!!!!Adjusted my actuator and boost controller without checking the fuelling, was making full boost by 2.5k then but must of been silly lean when getting a bar that soon. You will need a remap but it would only be a quick tweek on the dyno so wouldnt cost too much
