Azz Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Fitted my HKS turbo timer and now when i remove the keys whilst the car is running it will not let me lock my car is there anyway to get around this ?? Quote
TrisK Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 i tried to work this out as well.the key in the lock works, but not the remote.i came up with a theory for a power source, but never confirmed it.i made on a thread on here about it Quote
mattyD Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 fitting a turbo timer will always interfere with the imobilliser as its wired up to the same circuit or something :S dont want to worry you either but if thieves see that you have a turbo timer these can be apparently be wired up really easily to start the car :S never experienced by me, but have read it a couple of times somewhere Quote
Azz Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 Cheers guys, not too sure what alarm it is as it was on the car when i bought it.It whont let me lock with the key either. Quote
rabbit1234 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 to be honest mate you dont realy need 1 they are all for show.as long as the turbo gets between a 1 to 2 min at idle to cool down then that will do the same as a turbo timer.i have no solotion for your problem other than 1) take the turbo timer out2) disconnect the central locking 3) sit the the car and extra 5 min and let it cool down while your in it.ither way good luck. Ideal if you don't wanna sit in your car whilst it cools down. My hks is wired in with my alarm and I have no probs. Also ideal if you want to leave the car whilst its warming up. Is the turbo timer hardwired in or connected using a bridging harness?D Quote

Starlet__SR Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Best thing to do is find out the make/model of the alarm and phone them and explain the situationD Quote

Starlet__SR Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Do you have an audio/security specialist near you? They'd be the first people i'd phoneD Quote
Azz Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 Do you have an audio/security specialist near you? They'd be the first people i'd phoneDI live in on Anglesey, north wales so there isnt much up here but il have a look! Quote
Starlet__SR Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Perhaps a wire might need bridging or something. Better to get an experts advice before doing anything.D Quote
